    Brakes and brake service

I serviced the brakes on my previous Model S after 300,000 km. Replaced pads and rotors which I ordered from Rockauto. Despite being located in the US, they quote in CAD$ and their shipping costs are quite reasonable. I bought the premium rotors which did not display any rust foe the first year.

Model S windshield cracks almost every winter

Whenever you pre-heat in cold weather it turns on the defroster full blast. No problem in an ICE car because the engine heats up gradually. But in our Teslas, the defrost heat is almost instantaneous because of resistive electric heating. A cracked windshield could then happen. Tesla should...

    Horn stopped working

Could be corroded contacts. Try to disconnect the spade connectors to the horns and then reconnect to make a good connection.

Supercharger - Kitchener, ON - Ottawa Street South

Looks like the Level 2 chargers are accessible from one parking row while the row on the other side of the divider is for Supercharging.

    Horn stopped working

On my previous Model S horn stopped working due to severe rusting. Bought exact replacements from Amazon for a bit over $ 25.00 The old ones are not removable from the Frunk side, so just placed the new ones into available empty space.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

One of the biggest silly decisions the Tesla team made was to get rid of the dedicated rain sensor. Second biggest mistake was to get rid of Sonar sensors and radar. This "Tesla Vision" is a major work in progress.

Model X Refresh driver side doors sensing obstruction that isn't there....

2023 X Plaid. Having the same problem with my left FWD. After two SC visits and sensor replaced, still no solution. It seems that in my case, it is temperature related. The failures started as soon as temps dropped near freezing. Of course inside the SC shop it is nice and warm and the door...

Non Tesla DC chargers are really expensive!

Non Tesla chargers are not a charity and must be properly maintained. Therefore they must charge enough to at least break even. Tesla chargers on the other hand are partly subsidized by our purchase of the vehicle. That's why non Tesla vehicles also pay a higher rate.

    New SC rates in Ontario

Industrial rates include a "Demand Charge". That is a charge based on the highest peak demand used by a customer in a month. And electric vehicle charging has a high "demand".

Annual license plate renewal fees - how much in your state?

Here in Ontario, Canada as a re-election ploy the provincial Government eliminated all license fees last year and even sent a refund for the previous three years. What a Country!

Anyone have call drops when in reverse?

After swapping your rims, just drive for a distance and then you get a message to OK TPMS new configuration. No reboot happens. BUT, if you select a tire reconfiguration from the menu then it will force a software reconfigure boot process.

Rogers is the carrier for Tesla Canada?

In our old cars they are physical SIMs from AT&T. Tesla can choose whatever Canadian carrier they want to use for roaming.

    Discover Pass Discount for Tesla?

What makes you think that Tesla drivers don't need CAA? It comes in mighty handy when you have a flat tire or run out of charge to get towed to a charger. Also comes in handy when pyro fuse blows and you need to get towed to a service location.
