Decent MOT in the North East

Shout out to Kwikfit Washington for the MOT this morning. Despite me having a checklist the tester knew exactly what he was doing (having done quite a few over the last year). Had their own pucks for jacking car (although it was lifted on a flatbed), and knew not to put car on rolling brake...

Decent MOT in the North East

I’m thinking exactly the same thing tbh, thanks 👍

    Buying a used M3P

My 2020 M3P will be 4 years old next month. Been a great car, now at 23k miles, and never missed a beat, other than rear spoiler was lifting off, so mobile ranger visit fitted new. Had all tyres (PS4S) replaced early at 20k miles, could have had another 10k miles easy. Other maintenance costs...

    Anybody, please?

Decent MOT in the North East

My 4 year old M3P is due its 2nd MOT. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good garage in the North East? Ideally Durham area? I took it to Kwikfit last year and, despite them saying they were fully EV-trained, it was clear the tester didn't know his way around a Model 3, struggled with...

    M3P Brake Service £358??

It cost £138 and took 5 hours. Should have been 3 hours but service tech struggled with rear parking brake, which activated whilst no brake pads in and pushed piston out. Was a bit of a drama tbh, as despite talking to tech beforehand saying please look after her… all 4 callipers were marked...

Performance Brake Caliper - Touch Up Paint Match?

Well the plot thickens, and it doesn’t half! Tesla have “tried” to source touch up paint, have accepted defeat and now booked me in for 4 new brake caliper replacements (zero cost to me, but their invoice north of £2k!!) Seems complete overkill to me, and just unsure on what to do next. Yes it...

Performance Brake Caliper - Touch Up Paint Match?

Had my 2020 M3P in at the local Service Centre for its 3 year brake strip and clean. Long story, but simple routine job resulted in scratches and chips to the red paint of the callipers. (Despite me talking to technician and emphasising “please take care” before the job!). Mobile Ranger came...

Brake Burnishing in Service Mode but Speed Limit set!!??

Ok, so got round to trying Brake Burnishing mode, and it’s quite good/effective 👍 You can run it (no ReGen) without guidance or with the guidance which I did (speed to reach, brake pedal pressure, cool-down period, no of cycles etc). Only one run thru (10 cycles) and it’s definitely improved the...

    M3P Brake Service £358??

Tesla have had to revise quotes as the initial one was an automated response which was way off and inc stuff I didn‘t need. Spoke to James at Cleverly, who gave me a lot of time and great advice, ie do a brake burnish (either in service mode or track mode, each option no ReGen). He could also...

    M3P Brake Service £358??

OK, so Tesla have just adjusted the estimate again (as they had included Cabin/Pollen filter which I got done December). Estimate now at a respectable £115 + VAT, and booked in for next Tuesday :) In terms of what they plan to do - brake strip and clean (all 4 wheels), greasing caliper/pad...

Brake Burnishing in Service Mode but Speed Limit set!!??

Speed Limit stays enabled (at 7mph) when Brake Burnishing is enabled. I tried it last night and got a bit of a shock as could only drive up to 7mph! Luckily I was very close to home! As earlier reply I have found the Remove Speed Limit option and will try this tonight.

Brake Burnishing in Service Mode but Speed Limit set!!??

My 3 year old M3P (20k miles) has a bit corrosion on discs but I now also hear a very faint rubbing noise from nearside front when creeping along with windows down next to parked cars etc. So the brakes need some good use and a clean. I’ve done some 50-0mph stops repeatedly with ReGen on Low...

    M3P Brake Service £358??

Tesla have got back and confirmed £160+VAT for brake strip and clean, plus fluid change, which is not too bad. I’m also getting some advice from Cleevely Mobile, as they can come out and do it at home.
