Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

Got my sock today, looks great! Pulled the HEPA filter, running the sock only. Now that I have the sock I can say I’m confident that nothing big enough to be a problem in the evaporator coil will get through.

Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

Smell is back…this is such a stupid problem. I’m taking the HEPA filter out and putting a sock on. Sock should also stop anything that could get stuck in the coil.

Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

That's a fair point. I've been mitigating the gym sock smell by ensuring the AC system is always set to recirculate cabin air. That's actually how I first figured out the front HEPA filter was the problem - the AC only stank when it switched itself to outside air (usually right when starting...

Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

Finally got around to pulling the HEPA filter out. Dead simple like others have said, Duke's post above gives all the instruction that you'll need. Thanks BTW! I can confirm that the musk was coming from the filter. I can also confirm that both the cabin air filter and front HEPA filter are...

Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

Can anyone confirm that the frunk air intake filter is the same size and in the same location in the palladium refresh model s (2021+) as the 2016-2020 MS? Have the gym locker smell any time outside air is pulled in so the air intake filter is suspect. Would prefer not to pay Tesla $500 to...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

The PS4S tires are asymmetric so they have a different tread pattern on the inside vs the outside. They can turn in either direction so the back wheels can be rotated from side to side (no specific direction of rotation). However, asymmetric tires *do* have a specified inside and outside written...

GPS issue since the past few weeks

Yes, no more gps issues since the camera was replaced. I was also having intermittent TPMS connectivity issues where a tire or two would stop updating sometimes and throw an error. That too was fixed by replacing the camera. It definitely sounds like you’ve got some other problem besides the...

GPS issue since the past few weeks

Quick follow up - mobile service came out today and replaced my in cabin camera. Quick and easy, friendly and knowledgeable service tech, no drama. Very different from my other recent Tesla service experiences. All hope might not be lost for Tesla service after all! I've taken the car out on...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

A 20" set of SV104s was my solution as well. I went with slightly different specs to get a little more rubber in the back and keep the front and rear tires the same diameter. I know, the OE Arachnid tires are different heights as well but that's always bothered me... Front - 20x9.5 ET30...

GPS issue since the past few weeks

Model S Plaid as well. Just scheduled my service appointment for 12/7 (almost 3 weeks ). Car was fine for over a year then this started within the last month or so. Autopilot, Cruise Control, Navigation and Home Link all useless. Hopefully I'm able to convince Tesla that their...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

305s are what Tesla should have used from the start. I'm sure there was a reason they went with 295, and I'd love to hear what it was but I doubt that it was a good reason. 295 ends up with a tire that is a little shorter in the back than the front while 305 is almost a perfect match...
