POLL: vibration felt when slightly accelerating refresh Mode S Plaid or LR

For most people checking this thread I’d recommend taking your car to a shop with a road force machine that actually cares and knows how to use it. Tire balancing is very easy but it’s truly amazing how many places just don’t care. Case in point, Tesla. My plaid came from Fremont with an awesome...

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

I’m on 2021.24.4 now, and the problem seems to be fixed. I can use homelink again without reversing my garage door several times per day! It’s a small win but I’ll take it…

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

Did not have this problem with my previous model S. Also, never had this issue with any other homelink system, but in most cars it’s just a button that you push until the garage door starts moving then you, ah, stop pushing. So the multiple signal problem is kind of unique to Teslas with...

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

For those with a new Model S - any issues with your homelink seemingly sending multiple signals? In other words, when you activate homelink does your garage door ever start to move then stop? And possibly even start reversing? This is happening rather frequently to me. With two different...

Plaid Owners PSA: Ifhate the Yoke/Turn Signals/Horn, please complain to the NHTSA

Not a fan of the new controls but I’d say it’s not a big deal and not really a safety concern. The biggest annoyance is probably the turn signals. I’ve mostly given up using them for lane changes due to the lack of any way to *consistently* differentiate between a ‘soft’ press for momentary...

Model S Refresh Floor Mats / Trunk / Frunk Liners?

Anyone heard of floor mats or trunk / frunk liners that might be on the way for the new Model S? Not a big fan of the all weather mats that Tesla is selling but if there’s nothing in sight I may pick up a set… I still had my old fabric mats from my 2020 S, and they’re definitely not compatible...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

The VHB adhesive tape isn’t very temperature sensitive so you would have to get it pretty hot to get it to release. Here’s a no heat method that worked for me. Take the outer cover off by removing the 3 bolts. Pliers will work if you don’t have the right socket. Then use some dental floss to...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

What’s your build and delivery location? I’ve got one reservation that I already swapped to 21 a week ago and so far no love on that. I’m considering swapping my other reservation over to 21 as well because the f****** wait is killing me!

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

Thoughts on what happens to the plaid pre orders? Hoping the system does an automatic upgrade to plaid plus... FWIW, my reservation hasn’t changed and still shows plaid at 140k. Edit: Any other automaker and I wouldn’t even bother asking for opinions. But with Tesla I’ve learned not to take...

I had a car crash and freaking out regarding the next steps

I see where my post could have generated confusion. The term replacement cost an be used to imply replacement with a new equivalent. Not what I meant. In that case I would have said his insurance would pay for a new car. It won’t. It will pay for a replacement car of identical condition, age...

I had a car crash and freaking out regarding the next steps

Remember insurance pays replacement cost, not trade in value. So the OP should get pretty close to the cost of a new car. That's why a 3rd party appraisal is needed if the insurance appraisal comes in low.
