Best Car in The Doctor's Lot

I made the mistake of letting my wife read your post. Now she is convinced that she should be driving the Tesla, and I the Prius (yeah, we got one of those too). Hmmm, we may need a second Tesla sooner than I thought. Wish I bought some TSLA when I picked up my car in March.

My 15,000 Mile Long Term Update

TMS doc -- Actually, he has a tiny amount of space in a triple in Unit 3. But we had to fit our other two sons in the car too. And we obviously brought too much stuff! I drove my Tesla there the following day (we live 1.5 hrs away), and saw another Tesla with the identical color scheme as...

Best Car in The Doctor's Lot

X-RAY-- I'm also not on the forum everyday; just enough to amuse my wife:smile: Glad you saw my post. I'm also in CA, but my hospital is not progressive enough to have put in charging stations. The truth is, I only live a few miles from the main hospital, so I don't need a charging station...

My 15,000 Mile Long Term Update

TMS Doc, I noticed you mentioned dropping off your daughter at UC Berkeley. We just dropped off our son there yesterday (comp sci, for now), but took the SUV because he has too much stuff. We are going again on Sun to drop off the things he forgot, and will be in our blue P85 this time. May be...

Best Car in The Doctor's Lot

I have given test rides to a gastroenterologist, a pediatrician, and several radiologists, but no sale yet. Guess I should stick to my day job. I did clinch a sale to one of my best friends, who's in a much higher income category than docs. My wife, who's an internist, has also given rides to...

Best Car in The Doctor's Lot

xray, I'm guessing you're a radiologist too. Any other radiologist Tesla owners on the forum out there? I have had my P85 for about 5 months, and absolutely love it! My only concern has been the 21 inch wheel, which looks great but is easy to damage (already dinged by my dad on his first, and...

My Charging Cable Thinks It's Unlatched, But Continues to Charge at a Lower Rate.

Thanks, pilotSteve. I found the other posts and tried all of the suggestion. They are helpful sometimes. But none seem to work consistently.

My Charging Cable Thinks It's Unlatched, But Continues to Charge at a Lower Rate.

Oops. Just realized that there is already a thread for this problem by Kipernicus: "Charge Cable Unlatched" error (charging at 16A only). Seems to me that Tesla needs to make the cable less finicky, such that even my grandma can make it work consistently.

My Charging Cable Thinks It's Unlatched, But Continues to Charge at a Lower Rate.

My Model S is consistently giving me the error message of "charge cable Unlatched", after the first 2 uses (which were fine). It continues to allow charging, but only at a lower rate of 16 Amps, instead of the normal 40 Amps (I have a NEMA 14-50). I checked all of the connections (wall, adaptor...

What do you do for work? Just passing time waiting for updates from Tesla :)

Career Switch I switched early, after working only one year as an engineer. I kept my options open in college. Worked a year as a failure analysis engineer, then decided that it may be more fun to work with failure analysis in humans. Most physician careers require a very long time...

NYT article: Stalled on the EV Highway

I was originally on the fence about getting the Model S. But after reading about how Tesla was Brodered by NYT, I finalized my order for a blue P85. So that's one more person who was not dissuaded by Broder's disingenuous article.

Radiologist. Used to be the "world's most computer illiterate electrical engineer" according to my wife.
