Brand new system and baffled with energy usage

I am in a very similar situation. I also live in Texas (Houston area) and had our panels installed last week (12.24kW system / 3 PWs). Our house as 2 AC units, a pool pump, 3 full-sized refrigerators (plus 2 mini-fridges in the outdoor living), and a Model X. Our daily power usage ranges...

Is Net Metering a Must in Texas?

Thanks for reminding me to look at the delivery charges. Pulse Power does still charge the delivery fee during their "Free Nights". It looks like Direct Energy has the best deal right now. The daytime rates are about the same as Green Mountain with 2 more hours of free nights. I can also...

Is Net Metering a Must in Texas?

I am curious to see how much of my energy I will end up offsetting. Based on my estimates using PVWatts, I should produce about 50kWh/day in September while my average usage for last September was 100kWh/day. The good news is that I used about 70kWh/day between the hours of 6am and 8pm last...

Is Net Metering a Must in Texas?

Thank you! Great to know that there is an option in the app now. I just spoke to the electrician who is installing our Powerwalls. He said he will walk me through the process, also. Unfortunately, I am not going to produce enough electricity to make it through an entire day with our hot...

Is Net Metering a Must in Texas?

I am also in Houston with Tesla installing our 12.24kW / 3 PW system today and tomorrow. Which company did you end up going with? Pulse Power has a 36 month 8pm to 6am free nights plan at $.0123/kWh + delivery charge. I agree that I don't see these TOU plans staying around much longer for...

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

The last email I got from my Tesla rep was "I’m sorry but we are not able to switch financing at this time.". Did you originally finance with your Tesla order? How long ago was that? My "Solar Loan Agreement" was signed on May 9th, but I still don't have my install scheduled.

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

Thanks...I though that I could just cancel and restart and eat the $100 deposit but not sure that would be worth the effort. :)

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

I finally heard back from my project advisor. I was also told that I would not be able to change financing because "the lender is not the same". Any thoughts how to get around this? I have not looked at my Sunlight Financial contract, but is there no early termination clause with them...

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

Nice catch on the new 10 year / 0.99% option. I see they are requiring 10% down with this option. It also looks like they are requiring you to pay for the full amount versus the amount after federal tax incentives. With that said, the cost of the loan for a 12.24kW system and 3 PWs works out to...

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

Wow! I had not seen this Mosaic option. I will reach out!

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

I went ahead and clicked "Accept and Credit Check" to see if I was giving this new financing option but was not, so I called Tesla. They said that it only shows up on the account for brand new orders, but they are able to add it to my account on the backend. They told me they will inform...

Considering Tesla Solar w/ Powerwalls in North Texas

Gexa also has free nights from 8p-8a, but their daytime rates are a bit higher than Direct Energy.

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

I noticed that Tesla now has a 5 year / 0.99% financing option when I log in like a new user and configure a solar / Powerwall system. However, when I go to my "Your System Layout" page on my Tesla account, my only financing options are the 20 year/4.99% and 10 year/3.99% options. Will I be...

Considering Tesla Solar w/ Powerwalls in North Texas

I am happy to hear how well the Direct Energy Free Nights plan is working for you. We are finalizing our Tesla solar order right now with a similar set-up having a Model X and a pool. I will most likely be switching to Direct Energy once we make the switch. My current electricity plan is not...

    Post Your Tesla Solar Layout

That's my guess, too. There are a lot of roof jacks on that long strip. There are not any on that small triangle where Freedom placed 3. I would think they would be able to get 3 or 4 over there especially since it is so close to the 8 they have in the front. At this point, I may just have...
