Most accident/damage reports are generated from police reports. You should call Carfax to get an answer to this rather than depend on what you read here.

@Rareribeye Ask GEICO if they are recommending that you sell your car without disclosing the accident history. Of course they will say no which means that the incident not appearing on Carfax is irrelevant.

We were lucky that our Tesla repair shop gave us a card for an independent appraiser who knows Tesla diminished value claims inside and out. You can't beat free expert advice so give them a call.

If you call St. Lucie Appraisal they will be happy to provide a "guesstimate" of how much value your car has lost as a result of its now having an accident history. $4,000-$5,000 sounds kinda low.

I know of no such law limiting diminished value payouts to 10% in NC. Ask them at St. Lucie Appraisal.
