    Brakes gone after 23k miles?

I've lived in New England for 45 years. I have never done anything to my brakes for winter, and my brakes haven't ever had any problems. I have friends in town that have Teslas that are older than mine that also haven't ever done anything to their brakes, and theirs are fine.

    Brakes gone after 23k miles?

What's even more infuriating is that they put new front tires on the car in September and never mentioned anything about the brakes.

    Brakes gone after 23k miles?

Just got told by my Tesla repair center that I owe $1100 because the front brakes on my 3 year old model X (only 23k miles) are falling apart. Evidently they got rusted and the brake pads came apart and so it needs new rotors and pads. The repair tech said the brakes are supposed to get...

5 bike rack for Model X?

@ShawnA - yeah, trailers are a PITA if I ever want to like... back up, or park in a normal spot. Not nearly as handy as a folding bike rack. But... definitely requires less welding than the other option :)

5 bike rack for Model X?

Thanks for the info. After posting I remembered the 120lb weight limit and that pretty much answer the question. Basically impossible get 5 bikes and a rack under that weight. I may have to do 4 and one in the back or something, I don't know... Even that is tight. An after market hitch is an...

5 bike rack for Model X?

We have 3 kids and 5 bikes when we want to go somewhere biking. Are there hitch mount solutions that people have tried and liked for 5 mostly full sized bikes? (24" to 28") There's a few out there that I see but I don't know how well they actually work and if they'd be too heavy for the Model X...

Massachusetts owners - excise tax incorrect price?

I sent the folks in Dedham an email, hopefully they can just shoot me a PDF of the sticker, as you said.

Massachusetts owners - excise tax incorrect price?

OK, I guess I'll have to look and see if I have that sticker and/or ask for a copy. Maybe it was in some paperwork I was given and just didn't notice.

Massachusetts owners - excise tax incorrect price?

I called the Mass RMV's Excise tax line (857 368 8180) and they asked for a window sticker, which of course I don't have because I bought it online, so I sent them my order agreement (via email while I was on the phone - super handy), which doesn't actually say MSRP anywhere because.... well...

Massachusetts owners - excise tax incorrect price?

My $88,000 Model X is valued at $109550 by the state of Massachusetts. If this is supposed to be 90% of the value of the initial MSRP of the car, they're overcharging me by almost 24%. When I talked to my town they said "It's based on MSRP, not what you paid", but Tesla doesn't have an MSRP as...

    Wet ceiling!?

Well, it's at the service center right now. We'll see what they say. I'm mostly worried they'll be all like "hey we can't find anything wrong" which means I'll have to wait until the next mega rainstorm to take it in, meanwhile it's slowly rotting out the headliner or something.

    Wet ceiling!?

Crud, yeah, I should have just gone. It's all dry now. If it happens again, I'll definitely do that.

Auto Pilot - need to confirm

Took me a bit to figure this out, I sat there in my lane with the turn signal going, waiting for it to change lanes :D I don't have FSD because $6k only buys you lane changes, taking interchanges between highways, autopark, and summon. That's.... just not a lot. I don't need autopark, I can...

    Wet ceiling!?

Definitely way more than condensation could be.

    Wet ceiling!?

It poured last night, and our Model X was out in it for part of the time. I put it in the garage after getting home from errands. This morning, the ceiling (inside!) is all wet (like a wrung-out sponge). The falcon wing doors were never open during the rain last night. I can't seem to figure...
