After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

Good thing you get to use all of the produced kWh. I don't know about LADWP but for SCE, the buy back rate is very cheap: https://www.sce.com/regulatory/tariff-books/rates-pricing-choices/net-surplus-compensation So a PV system produces just enough kWh is great because it's low upfront costs.

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

Do you need a special shoes to walk on it when it's wet? I heard that firefighters refuse to go up to solar roofs in case there's a fire.

Does anyone here have an efficiency comparison between Tesla solar roofs and typical Tesla solar panels? Thanks.

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

Per Tesla website: 6.1kW solar roof for 1,600sf: $22,674 vs 8.16kW solar panels on existing roof: $11,000. I think I will go ahead and install a shingle roof for $10,500 first and don't have to worry about leaks. Then call Tesla once the roof is done.

Derate the main breaker so you can increase the amount of amperes created by solar/PW system per 120% rule of NEC section 705.12. Hi Mod, I was able to use PVwatts website and a 10kW system would produce 16,000 kWh/year. And as of now, SCE surplus buy back rate is $0.02/kWh...

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

With my 200A panel, I can derate the main breaker to 150A with the load calculation so I can install (2) PWs and a 30A rated solar system.

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

My power company is SCE. Without solar, I got 20% off with their D-CARE program.

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

The house is on a four lane street leading to a freeway one mile from my house so the airborne dust could reduce the efficiency.

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

I know 2.9kW is very small but that number I got from Tesla roof website when I input 1600sf and that's what I got. 5 hours per day is from sunrun website but I'll try to use PVwatts to see the difference. When I entered my address, there's a message: "Unable to determine the latitude and...

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

I can only input some kWh. Could you please enlighten me with $ amount? 1. Figure out how much you pay per Kwh and how many Kwh you use in a year. $0.2/kWh (currently $0.15/kWh but for the sake of the calculation), 5048kWh/year. 2. Work that out for 20 years. 5048kWh/year x 20 years = 100960...

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

I'm comparing the costs and would like to go with a better ROI. But if I go with solar then battery is a must.

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

Yep. They will likely have to add decking which would affect the price. I read it the first minute I saw it yesterday because it's a very good writeup. Thanks for that. I haven't called Tesla yet for the price but will do it soon. I need an ROI because of this orange and apple comparison: 1)...

After a new solar roof is installed, how hard to replace an existing rooftop condenser unit?

Speaking of shades, there's an existing tall chimney on the roof and we never use the fireplace for the entire time we bought the house. Should we eliminate the chimney? On a side note, I check Tesla plans for another city on a daily basis (I'm an electrical engineer working for a city far from...

Mine is skip sheathing so I guess Tesla would charge more to replace with smooth sheathing.
