Home made jack pad for Model S

I would imagine a real production version to be made of hard rubber or polyurethane (not wood), something like these: https://www.amazon.com/Small-Universal-Slotted-Polyurethane-Protector/dp/B00W2NMO3Y https://www.amazon.com/2-Pack-Rubber-Jack-Pads-Slotted/dp/B06WRMSHP2

Home made jack pad for Model S

Mine are regular pine - I wanted softer wood to avoid any damage on the car. After 3 seasonal tire changes, it virtually shows zero wear

Home made jack pad for Model S

How about a free set of four for the inventor of this jack pad :-)

Home made jack pad for Model S

Glad it worked well for you BigTonyTones. Designing them for the first time was a PITA, as I had to throw away a bunch of early prototypes.

Home made jack pad for Model S

I've used mine a few times (put a set of winter tires and then back the summer tires) - still looks like new. I have a racing jack with soft rubbery surface, which seems to be very gentle on the pad.

Home made jack pad for Model S

I have proper polyurethane jack pads... but they are really difficult to center. A few mm off - and you are damaging the plastic shield. I've noticed damage in 3 out of 4 corners after just being in Tesla SC once for a wheel swap. So I wanted a pad that would be correctly positions 100% of...

Home made jack pad for Model S

After failing to find a proper jack pad for my Model S, I decided to make one myself out of the wood. I wanted something that would use entire jacking surface and would not slip. I also wanted something that would self-center to use this entire jacking surface. It took me quite a few hours to...

    19" vs 20" pics?

I am also worried about the curb rush with these. For folks who got 20s, do you feel there's any rim protection with 245 tires?

Media player in 8.0 actually got worse (for local music)

I am also super disappointed with new player - completely ruined my experience. I spent countless hours sorting the songs on my USB drive - but now everything is playing alphabetically and without ability to create a "playlist" there are only two options: alphabetical or random.

Anyone jump ship from a Model X?

Confirmed my S today and cancelled X... the handling and the looks of facelifted S were just irresistible.

Did the colors change on refreshed model S?

...and Tesla Store staff doesn't seem to be aware of this new / different color as well - kinda strange

Did the colors change on refreshed model S?

I was comparing to non-signature red cars... all P90Ds they use as test drivers. I even took one of their paint color samples... it was a perfect match with "classic" cars, but looked much darker then facelifted model

Did the colors change on refreshed model S?

I saw a facelifted red model S at the Tesla store today and it had a different red then pre-facelifted models standing right next to it. The facelifted red was a lot lighter, more of "scarlet red" vs darker shade or red in the pre-facelifted cars. Am I hallucinating... or these are different...

Mine is almost 90 inches as well

Crunch! Falcon Wing Doors fail to sense obstacle

My local Tesla store graciously agreed to bring Model X into my garage today so I can "test-open" the FWDs. We tried it in the "very low" suspension setting and it worked like a charm (with about 1cm clearance before the garage door track). Unfortunately in the "normal" suspension setting it...
