I ordered the batteries from Amazon. I did check the batteries each time and they showed over 3 Volts before I put them in the key fob but it's still possible that they were duds. It might be worth ordering another batch.

Agreed. Only reason to apply a coating on a leased car is if you wash it yourself regularly. The glass coatings make washing and maintenance a lot easier.

I'm not sure about ending up with extra cash, but there have been plenty of members with AP1 cars who have offered to trade for an AP2 car because they are willing to wait for Tesla to catch up.

I would venture to say that the "doom and gloom" entered the equation with the introduction of local road Autosteer in this release.

So could Tesla have reduced the 'incentive' for these lawsuits by having released features in a different order? For example, would those AP2 owners who feel mis-led by Tesla be more content if release 17.7.2 had increased Autosteer on freeways to 60+ MPH (safely), and added auto-headlights...

I should have put "dangerous" in quotes because I'm personally not of the opinion that Autosteer on local roads is dangerous when used judiciously. I've been using it regularly and know its limitations. However, I don't think there is any argument that it's buggy....
