Spoke to a manager the NVidia X1 product team a couple of weeks ago. He said that Tesla tested the X1 but went with the same hardware as in the Model S in the end. Which would explain the one mule people caught with eight(?) cameras.

People buying a Tesla will pay attention. So a botched launch, more delays, technical issues. People will hesitate to buy X & S. Tesla will miss its estimates. Stock will plummet. More people will get worried about buying from a company that is failing. Stop spirals to zero. The End

You said that better than I did. All this stuff that isn't necessary, the doors, the wind shield, the second row seats - make the car more expensive and harder to build, cause the delays, cause the high price. Customers will disappear and Tesla will be on their way to bankrupcy in 12 months.

The Outlander isn't sold in the US. X5 40e was supposed to arrive in Q4 but still isn't shown on their website. The Audi Q6 etron doesn't have a release date either. So is the Cayenne the only PHEV available right now?

If you're in a hurry, 72A makes no difference; you need CHAdeMO or better a supercharger. If you are charging over night, 48A is plenty

Sure. $5k above base Model S price. That will get you a Model X 70D. With nothing. And in maybe a year. And if you want the car now you need a P90D with some extras that are "automatic" and you are at a really high price - like more than six figures.

P89xx here. Cacnelled my reservation yesterday after playing with the configuration thingy. I'm not going to wait another year for a Model X. Too little, too expensive, too late.

Seems likely the case. If this had been something they had planned longer it would have shown up in the Model S (maybe with the 'D's)
