I have 8.16 kW system without storage installed by Tesla. The 12.24 kW system would not have fit and would have way over produced.
In fact, even the 8.16 kW overproduces, however we got two new EVs right now and started going out more, also will eventually upgrade to a heat pump.
Is it...
Do you get more credit per kwh if you generate more than the baseline?
Or does the baseline only applies to consumption?
The bill is very complicated. I also have the SJCE CCA
If you can get on NEM 2.0 and do not have often power outages, you are better off with larger system and no battery, especially if the larger system will cover fully your usage. NEM 2.0 works as a battery that can store energy in the summer and use it in the winter.
I had six referrals showing in my loot box, all for Solar Panels, they disappeared completely!
I have a screen shot, but Tesla cannot find them based on this screen shot.
I've seen this discussed before, what is the best course of action?
Utilities should increase the NBC a bit so they can make profit from that, while still keeping the payback period reasonable. It is very nice to use the utility as a battery as no other battery will store energy from summer to winter, so I don’t mind paying something to rent that battery.
9110 kWh is a bit low for 24 panels. PVWatts estimates around or over 10000 kWh even for purely east or west arrays with 45 degree tilt.
Maybe you have a lot of shade from trees or neighbors and or/very steep roof?
Which app are the screenshots for consumption from? Looks very nice. I also did not get Powerblaster and even though I have Vue, I cannot get production and consumption in the same app.
On the batteries, I don't think they are worth it, except for back up and even then I'd rather try some...
Your system may be a bit too big but it is already installed, so try to make best use of it. For example you could use space heaters rather than central gas and consider heat pump when you upgrade hvac. Can also consider heat pump water heater if you can install those somewhere where the noise...
Did you do anything special to get the powerblaster? Tesla refused many times to give me one. Even though the electrician thought they have temporary shortage. The energy advisors just told me to buy something on Amazon.
When NEM 3.0 is offered, you will lose NEM 2.0 if you install more than 1kw additional PV. Apparently will not lose it if you add storage only.
This is all hypothetical, since things can change, but since NEM 3.0 is expected to be worse than NEM 2.0, you would be losing the benefits of NEM 2.0...
OP here. Just to clarify - I recently got Solar (PTO last Thursday!) so I am on NEM 2.0.
I decided not to get the battery and to use the grid as the battery since it lets you store in summer and use in winter. and pay the NBCs.
Currently this suits me fine since TOU-C and TOU-D have very small...
E.g, is it a whole new interconnect agreement?
I was thinking about adding batteries later, if prices go down but if it means losing NEM2.0, and also no ITC credit, maybe it is better to add them this year. I do not need them for backup, only for future protection in case PGE keeps changing...
How do you distinguish between the LED indicators for
System Performance Information vs. AC Output Power Production Percentage?
For example solid green and solid blue could mean either:
system is producing and communicating OR system is producing more than 66%.
and just solid green could...
