I asked if it mattered and they said no, so I didn't see any reason not to just take the $1,000 back. Of course, I expect I'll have my car long before I get that $1,000. My order _says_ delivery by November, we'll see . . .
I had a similar experience last weekend. I ordered and must have done something wrong because then my account page showed my original reservation and the order with a new reservation number. I called Tesla customer service and they said it didn't impact delivery timeframes and sent me an email...
