Confirmed sales of Signature Model S

Loaded sig perf w/ less than 10000 miles on it for 92k? What is the catch? Accident?

Alas, new problem: Windshield Stress Fracture. Anyone else?

It is probably caused by chips, but chips can stay unnoticed for a while, especially if they are near the edge of the windshield. A change in temperature can then cause the windshield chip to spider or produce a huge crack.

Petition to rollback 5.8s suspension behavior modification at high speeds

One thing this will do is allow for real data about the range increase obtained by lowering the car. I would love to see wht the actual benefit is.

    Defroster Vent UI Behavior

Are you sure that the A/C is not kicking on? I had a Toyota that had a separate A/C button with a light and you could turn that light on or off with the button, but the compressor remained on if defrost was selected. I do not think that this behavior is mandatory though.

    Defroster Vent UI Behavior

I don't know that I have been in a car that allowed the windshield vents on without the A/C kicking on. It might be a safety feature as that setting could create condensation on the inside of the windshield.

New $5 device easily unlocks car doors

If it is the same "documentation" as this video, then nothing in the video proved that the car was locked initially. If it does work, then they should be able to explain the mechanism. Otherwise, it makes no sense.

New $5 device easily unlocks car doors

A rolling code would not work in this type of system, in a rolling code system uses a pseudo random number generator to create a unique code for every press of the fob button, the fob only has a transmitter and after sending one code it assumes that code was accepted and goes on to the next code...

New $5 device easily unlocks car doors

Obviously the MS, any any other fob based keyless car system cannot use a rolling code RKE security system so what do they use? Would that be easier to break? Harder?

I want to clear up some confusion on CHAdeMo Adapter Pricing

What's more, that station would be more useful as it would be able to charge other EV's.

Just as I thought the P85+ couldn't get any better :)

From Michelin, the PSS's are suposed to increase both grip and tirewear: (I have not seen independent verification of these figures and I assume tire size would change the numbers) Road-holding on dry surfaces: Tests showed a 1.5-second gain on a 2,700-meter closed-circuit track. Braking on...

Vendor Project Chocolat: A Customized Brown Model S

Those aren't factory tires, they are Pirelli P Zero Nero's. Can't see on the pictures whether it is a P+ with the wider rears.

    Goodyear vs. Michelin

There are many summer tires available for the 19" wheels, depends on how much you want to spend, but I have heard good things about the Michelin PS3's.

    Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3

I saw on Tirerack that they had winter tires that were supposed to fit the 21" rims. Has anyone had experience with these? I know I would probably still have to get a second set of 21" rims but this way they could at least be the same rims...

Could the Model S in the future be equiped with an automatic gearbox, for more range?

As was stated in this thread on TOS, Tesla initially tried a 2 speed transmission in the roadster for top speed. The roadster melted the transmissions so Tesla got rid of them. http://green.autoblog.com/2008/01/23/breaking-tesla-has-a-solution-for-their-transmission-woes-get/
