You're a lucky (wo)man! I'm suspicious that front-end issues are more variable than read-end issues due to likely changes in hardware and layout between AP1 and AP2, but only someone with up to date repair documentation would know for sure.

Installed the chains last night with the fresh lugs, and the collets seated fully. The chains stayed in place for a 15-20MPH drive around the neighborhood on dry pavement.

All good thoughts, and I agree about the amount of purchase for the collet on the nut. I triple-checked the collets (thanks for the word!) on initial installation, including measuring the inner diameter with a caliper, and they are the 21mm. (And the 21mm fitting is for a 14mm nut...

Here's a view of the inside of the sleeve and how far it slides down the taper of the lug nut, probably about 0.5cm or so.
