Anyone reconsidering their order after seeing how Elon is reacting to COVID-19?

Yes. Was basically set on getting a LR AWD, but Elon’s attitude and proclivity for promoting false information combined with all of the well documented QA issues still around on Model 3s has changed my mind and I’m no longer looking at a Tesla.

    Finance Rates

Does anyone have any memory of the history of Tesla’s 1st party finance rates? Curious whether the latest fed rate cut of a full 50bps will result in a reduction of the 3.5% rate.

Delivered With a Dozen Paint Defects...Am I Being Unreasonable?

My Audi lease is ending, had it for almost three years. After that time have no significant rock chips (and of course flawless paint from the factory), so the argument that “it’s going to end up that way” is flawed from the start. If it were a single chip or a couple in not noticeable places...

Delivered With a Dozen Paint Defects...Am I Being Unreasonable?

Panel gaps and fitment don’t affect the car, assuming they don’t lead to leaks, etc. Paint imperfections lead to bigger paint imperfections and potential damage to the underlying panels. And yes I understand the car is mostly aluminum...that’s not an excuse to allow paint issues. Sure you’ll...

Delivered With a Dozen Paint Defects...Am I Being Unreasonable?

In no world is this level of paint imperfection acceptable on a brand new car, regardless of price, but especially for a car over $50k. As a new member of this forum, it is shocking to me how willing the faithful are to accept this kind of thing. Sure the car is otherwise great, and I get...

Are SR/SR+ "bait and switch" for, at least, Californian?

Bad customer service / experience is not actionable in most scenarios. There is no “bait and switch” and no contractual damages. There might be a case for foreseeable consequential / expectation damages for the loss of the tax credit, but that would be an uphill battle given that there...

Was the glass break intentional? (EDIT: No it wasn't)

Event was at the design studio in LA, and it wasn’t that cold here yesterday.

This truck design had better be a joke....

Let’s list the ways it’s “not useful as a truck” that we actually know about... - Too high of bed (totally fair) - Bed size (fair for a segment of the market) - 5th wheel towing (small segment of the market) What am I missing? And useful... - Durable - Onboard power and air - Off-road...

    Sleepers in California!!

Would I be able to get one without having an existing order?

This truck design had better be a joke....

Maybe they could have gotten more share, maybe not. But 10% share is only ~6% less than the share of the entire line of either the Silverado or Ram so that number isn’t really realistic to begin with...but the point is that there is no way this “takes down” Tesla when the market is so huge and...

Who’s afraid to comment it’s ugly? That’s 90% of the posts in this thread...

This truck design had better be a joke....

If Tesla can grab 1% share just in the US (less than half of Nissan’s piece of the market with the Titan in 2018) with an average selling price of $50k, they get a $1.5B incremental revenue boost...doesn’t seem destined for commercial failure to me.

This truck design had better be a joke....

ish, but look at the rover from “The Martian” (2015). I think there are two sort of visions of “the future” in culture - one that is very glossy and sort of round (a la I Robot or Minority Report) and one that is very harsh and angular that you see more frankly in 80’s movies and modern hard...

This truck design had better be a joke....

First post here, thinking about getting a M3, but not a Tesla guy... This looks no more like a Pontiac Aztek than any of the current crop of slant back German SUV’s, i.e. only in the loosest possible way at a very high-level with the silhouette, so let’s put that one to bed. Not being able to...
