Yeah, on this thread, #86, scottm says he's hooked up a 12V charger. He says it's drawing 20W from the wall. I don't doubt this is better, but it's not for everyone, needs you to plug in 2 things each night, you need to buy a charger, and make a mod to the car.

That seems like an ideal solution for people who are willing to do very minor mod to their car. But I think there's probably a lot of people for whom it would be too much trouble to buy a suitable 12V PSU/charger, mod their car, and plug in 2 plugs every day. I wonder if there's a better...
