    UK Aug 23 Insurance Recommendations

All good, helpful and interesting points thanks guys. I cannot save the quote on the Saga site as suggested so will have to make a decision whether to buy that one and cancel during the cooling off period by the end of the day today, or to rely on Churchill still being the cheapest as they have...

    UK Aug 23 Insurance Recommendations

Just had a conversation with Churchill regarding my upcoming renewal on 19/12. Current insurance was £659.35 - 2022 Model Y LR, 14 Years protected NCB, 6k miles per year, SDP only, 60 years old sole driver, garaged in Rugby. That was 100% increase at last renewal so I am trying to keep...

[UK] Insurance prices - is it Tesla or my claim causing the high price?

Well done, that's certainly a better deal than I could get for my Comp Plus cover also with protected NCB and no points or convictions despite my best efforts. I have declared less than 8k miles too but have no one I can add as additional driver. I live in town but garaged off a gated...

[UK] Insurance prices - is it Tesla or my claim causing the high price?

There seems no logic to insurance prices of recent times. At renewal in Dec 21 cost was £388 for M3LR, and on changing to MYLR in March I got £38 refund, followed by a further £9 refund on adding my personal plate in September! At renewal in Dec 22 cheapest was again Churchill but cost now...

    Aftermarket LED lights

I have Abstract Ocean supplied ones as well, and have noticed no such problems on either of these versions of the software.

What Is Your Model Y Body Type (V5C)

I had a letter advising of the impending change a while ago. Mine was registered originally (01/03/22) as a Saloon but I have changed to my personal reg number recently (01/09/22) and the replacement V5C has been issued with the new reg number and body code corrected to MPV.

    Charging cable recommendations please?

No problem, hopefully they might have it back in stock by the time you need it. When I bought mine it seemed good value for a 10m cable.

    Auto Express Driver Power survey

I'm on my second Tesla, a Model Y registered 1st March and previously had a Fremont built 3LR and have been very pleased with the quality and finish of both of them, with no complaints whatsoever. I had a small issue with the Model 3 in that the nearside wing camera had stopped working by the...

Frunk LED Light Strip for Model 3 or Y

Nice bright, well lit Trunk lights there Ernest, and the light in the lower compartment is a great idea. I'm interested to know if yours is the later lithium '12V' (15V) battery.

    Charging cable recommendations please?

I've been using this one for over 18 months and have been very pleased with it, but unfortunately it's out of stock at present.

Frunk LED Light Strip for Model 3 or Y

In automotive terms, a '4 pin' relay is a simple on/off switch or make/break contact which is all that's required here, whereas a '5 pin' relay is a changeover contact relay. It might also be worth bearing in mind that the later cars using the Lithium battery on the '12V' side will have a...

Tesla locking loaner cars in chill mode?

Unfortunately there is, but there shouldn't be as the way each is driven hugely affects the other. Driving Trucks is all about anticipation and being prepared and leaving room for the mistakes and impatience of others, and that applies whether those 'others' are driving cars or indeed other...

Tesla locking loaner cars in chill mode?

I used to drive a 44t truck loaded with steel for a living, completing many thousands of safe miles and deliveries, and with this experience I would respectfully suggest that if you need the extreme performance of an unrestricted Tesla to "get into a gap" on the motorway, then that gap that...
