Briefly pressing the scroll wheel will operate whatever you've set it up to control - in your case, the climate control. You need to press and hold the wheel to change the left or right sides of the dash.

Could it be that with range mode off the battery heater is using all the power leaving none to actually charge with? It's about 8C here in the UK at the moment and when I went out to the car to check something earlier it started drawing ~23A at 230V just with the heaters coming on.

I think it is probably just overlapping messages. The app fetches the car status in the background. If you turn the heat on too quickly, the status message you get is the old one and out of date. If you then wait 30s or so, you'll get another update with the heat turned on. The heat will have...

I have the manual liftgate and it is very light to close - far lighter than the one on my previous Range Rover Sport. If the height is a problem, then some kind of strap as mentioned above might help.

My driveway is on a slope. I have tried it both on and off but prefer it on. When coming to a stop on the slope it isn't possible to get to the brake pedal without a horrid lurch backwards.
