Today with 2020.4.1, heater works with App. But as soon as I started driving to a Supercharger (60 min. away), battery heater stoped (only 1/4 regen). After a 30 min. drive uphill and downhill (60-80 km/h), regen was full available without heating the battery.

Known problem with 2019.40.2.3 . It heats not always and not enough! Battery Heater starts, if - charging and preconditioning together (sometimes the charging heated up a little bit and the heater does not start) - you start to drive with cold battery - you enter a Supercharger as a target...

if the battery is cold (overnight outside) and less than 45 min. drive to SuC it's just normal. The charging rate for warm batteries can be found at Tesla Supercharging - Summer 2019 Update Your 90 kWh battery should be above 60 kW for SoC of below 70%. Btw. switch Range Mode OFF when driving...

Just seen Battery-Heater in App! Enable Heater in App AND start charging (in my case with 3x13A,230V = 9 kW). Battery-Symbol was visible in App, but only for 3 minutes. That is not long enough! S85 (2015) Version 2019.40.2.3

My S85 (2015) has only rear wheel drive. I didn't needed the chains (I have them, better save than sorry) at all. Not even when I drove to Norway/North-Cape in Winter 2017. :-O If you own a "D" 4-wheel Tesla, you will not need them on normal roads.
