    Got my MCU1 Refund today!

I got notified on March 3rd and the notice said 60 days and that I would get a letter of approval if I qualified. The email had the date and cost when the replacement was performed. When i log into the Tesla website, it says that I am approved. Wondering if your check is representative of other...

    Firmware Update Changed My Odometer

So it has come time to sell my 2013 Model S 85. When I looked at the odometer to put the mileage into an add, it read over 200,000 miles. I took it to the Tesla shop and they said that the car was displaying the correct mileage. A month ago, I had a tire patched at my local shop and they...

Does Tesla's parts and service policies violate state and federal consumer protection laws?

This is the article that I used for the source. It might be just California.

Do we have the basis for a class action suit?

Does Tesla's parts and service policies violate state and federal consumer protection laws?

I have had several disappointments recently in dealing with Tesla service, and some of the issues may be relevant to consumer protection laws in effect. 1) Last year our MCU failed in the replacement cost (over $2,700) was something we could not afford at the time. I bought a salvaged MCU from...

    Can I swap a gen 1 door handle for a gen 3?

The driver side rear door handle on my 2013 Model S will not extend and also will not trigger the lock. After doing much online homework, I think the problem might be a worn ribbon cable. I assume the third gen handles have fixed a lot of issues, can I take one from Ebay and use it to replace my...

HPWC dropped from 80 to 40 amps

Took it to Tesla service yesterday and they said that the slave charger is exhibiting some screwy data and they want $2300 to replace it and we do not have that kind of money right now. Just paid $2300 to have the MCU replaced. My business partner is trying to lynch me right now.

HPWC dropped from 80 to 40 amps

We went to the local Tesla service center and the car charged at over 40 amps. So it is the wall charger right? Well I had someone else with a Model S come by and try charging with my charger and they got more than 40 amps. Go figure. The problem seems to be pairing my car with my charger. Well...

HPWC dropped from 80 to 40 amps

My 5 year old HPWC just dropped to a max of 40 amps. My dual charger Model S charges fine elsewhere. Reset the electrical panel circuit breakers and no change. The other clue is when I press on the reset button, the lights do not go out for a moment but just stay green. Should I just buy another...

Model S Not Ready For Commercial Use Prime Time. Can I afford to own this car?

I think the drive train is still under warranty.

Model S Not Ready For Commercial Use Prime Time. Can I afford to own this car?

The car has 135,000 on it. In our normal commercial use for a Lincoln Town car, we see somewhere between 60-100K use per year, so the Tesla has been actually used rather lightly in comparison. We added extra sound proofing within a few weeks of the car's arrival in March of 2013 (correct guess...

Model S Not Ready For Commercial Use Prime Time. Can I afford to own this car?

So the drama continues. After replacing the charge unit, the drive unit failed again and got replaced. Then I got a call from Tesla that the telemetry from the car indicated something wrong with the battery. We we took it in and the gave us a loaner for a little over a month and then put the...
