    My model S has been at Mercedes of Manhattan for 6 weeks for a crunched rear quarter panel. Tesla will not give the repair shop any ETA on parts. I just left a message in my account at Tesla.com but this thread (and others) is pretty discouraging.

    The update (last weekend for me) seems to have fixed it. Drove for 90 minutes with no reboots. Previously, it was every 10-15 minutes on my 2013 P85+

    The link on that page got me a 404 error at dropbox the other day. Today I just get a spinner on the page. The "Download" button does download an archive of oldversions up to 0.28.

    I was just told my 2013 85kwh battery would be sent back to refurbish. Less than 20k mile on the car, too.

    Will economics of new Tesla PowerWall product will work for you?

    With flat metering (as I have) it the powerwall doesn't make sense other than short term backup. With current off-peak electricity pricing it doesn't make sense either. Off-peak these days means lower pricing only at night. BUT, I suspect as grid-tied solar starts to create more of a headache...

    Has anyone willingly returned to the ICE-age?

    I will be moving from NJ to Manhattan. Figuring out the charging situation for my Tesla in a public garage seems daunting - a far cry from just rolling into my garage and plugging it in. I will probably buy another car (a used beater) and let the attendants have at it.

    Cold Weather, long drive, good planning, good experience

    Right. The binding constraint was getting enough charge for the return trip in the time I would be spending in meetings. I could have driven my normal 75-80 if I had been willing to hang out for an extra hour of charging before starting on the return journey.
