Did you PPF your new Tesla?

Did a PPF on the front 1/4 of the car, mirrors, rockers ahead of the rear wheels and rear bumper cover for $1,200. Also, they wrapped the interior piano black parts. Best money I've ever spent for the following reasons: 1) No rock chips at 70,000 miles 2) Kids have wrecked the rear trim on the...

2019 SR Model 3 worht it?

Haven't found a Tesla that out drives a 2019 SR. Being the lightest Tesla, with a lighter battery, and purely rear wheel drive makes for the sportiest handling, IMO. Most SR+ got a performance rear drive unit (although it is limited in our cars, it can be un-corked by aftermarket tools). I...

Rejecting my brand new model 3 Highland

Just depends on who is doing the balancing. We have a Costco store that seems capable of sorting any bad balance. Awfully sorry to hear your car is getting rejected for such a simple fix. I understand wanting a smooth dive. Your demand is reasonable and if Tesla can't get it right they should...

Power Sharing Question that I can't find the answer to

The universal charger is a high quality splitter.

Tesla Universal Charger undocumented feature: it’s a splitter!

OK before everyone rips on me, yes I do know it isn’t code until the manufacturer publishes the connection and I am only running at 40 amps because 6-3 romex from a 50 amp breaker, … …but it is no accident that there is a good splitter in the *universal* charger base. This makes it VERY easy to...

Model 3 RWD got beat by an Audi turbo

My 2019 has the performance rear drive unit. It will do a roughly 5 second 0 to 60 time that toasts everything including a C8 and Cayman GT4 ( @ the speeds I am willing to run on the street). Test drove the “Highland” and while it is “better” the steering is “mah” and it is so much slower as to...

    Liftgate Drain Blockage

If course, I tried to clean mine and the line pushed easily into the body of the door leaving a hole. Owned vehicle for three months. Have had it in a "not broken" status for two days. I know I did it to myself, but I used the same bit of pipe cleaner I use on my Mercedes.

Gen 3 wall connector power sharing

Read this thread and just figured I would update. The latest version of the Gen 3 install guide has drawings directing each of the Chargers sits on its own 60A breaker, regardless of whether a sub panel is used.

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

No need to be condescending. The car defaults to 225 wh/mi for range calculations. I do not think 240 was ever possible at 55 mph. Of course, there are many variables. My sense is that the newer car with the 192 kw motor (vs 211) and larger capacity battery gets closer to what is spec'd by the...

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

We own and love a "tent built" 2019 SR+. Every version of a 2019 Model 3 was cross-shopped with every available wheel and tire option. Settled on the SR+ on 19 inch wheels for the additional steering feel and responsiveness compared to the other models. Specifically, the weight of the front...

Just test drove a highland in Los Angeles

Good write up. We own a 2019 Tent Build Model 3 SR+ with a performance rear drive unit on 19-inch wheels. Drove a 24 "Highland" on 19's. This particular car had a misalignment of the left front (driver's door) that required a couple of tries to get latched. Everything else lined up fine and the...

    Front half shaft replacement instructions

Went to check on mine at week three of the one day axle repair. I took these photos from the public area of the service center. Dre at the Kennesaw GA service center threatened to have me removed from the property for violating their “no photos” rule. I invited them to go ahead and call the...

2017 Model X Fore and Aft link replacement - bushings are torn? Help

Neat product. Whoa, asking 4X or 5x the price of factory parts (or replacements from someone like Dinan) is aggressive. Tesla Front Control Arms Parts - Dinan Would like to know what spherical bushing feel like on a Model X. My limited experience with these has been in literal race cars and...
