Tesla Owner Calls Police on Rivian Driver Using Supercharger

Official or not, that should have worked regardless of the official status of the adapter, given that other people have used unofficial adapters before on eligible cars and that they're passive. There could have been a variety of reasons as to why charging did not work that isn't tied to the...

M3P battery draining while traveling overseas long term (Sentry has been off)

I did some googling and Illionis recently passed a law requiring ev charging to be allowed to be installed. They'll probably still find some way to try to block install but you now have the law on your side (seems to have gone into effect as of the beginning of this year)...

2024 Model 3 RWD vibrations at highway speed - is this an issue for others?

Given that they've been shipping cars from China for quite some time, wonder why it has suddenly appeared. Was it caused by some delays, bad procedure, or something else? They are using different tires this time so wondering if that has something to do with it. Even those the OP hasn't updated...

Mobile charger with single phase 240v circuit ground loss

The post I linked to the person used an older Gen1 mobile connector and wired it to 277V. As far as I know no dip switches or soldering was done in that UMC, just made a custom pigtail to hook it up, so no dip switch involved. Getting an older UMC might work, one could also try to wire an older...

Mobile charger with single phase 240v circuit ground loss

I am surprised as to why it needs a split phase. Unless the UMC is different internally or there's something in the adapters, it should work in a 240-0 scenario (think Europe/South Korea). People have brought their cars overseas and L2 charging definitely works. Funny enough I remember...

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Got it installed yesterday, tested today, works perfectly. CCS charging is expensive compared to Tesla supercharging (at least where I am) but I mainly did it to test it out. 2018 Model 3.

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

At least for the US the $7500 tax credit being available just for the Y which will skew things, so I'm not sure how much we can rely on such a ratio. However maybe data from other regions will be able to shed light on this (where highland has been out in greater volume anyways).

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

I already said it in this thread, but it will be hard to plot an overall lost sales due to stalkless controls due to it being largely confined to the S and X at first. However with the rollout of the highland 3 finally underway worldwide we'll get a better sense of things over the next few...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

The context here I feel is relative to how people expect to drive cars today. Having to push a button now to invoke certain actions is certainly not intuitive as using stalk or buttons, as people in general have a sense of how certain basic actions work given how other cars works. New tech of...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

The devil are in the details. The quote that I keep seeing tossed around is this: The key word to me here is intuitive manner. I am not sure if the buttons for turn signals would fall under such a manner despite being physical buttons. There probably will be additional clarification about...

Tesla Charge Ports & Plugs from China, North America, and Europe Compared (for Models S, X, 3, & Y)

Kinda presumptuous to assume that I was unaware of any of Tesla's early history with charging... What I said does not contradict Tesla's early experience, as type 2 / 3 phase plugs is not something that could have been ever solved with the current NACS connector. Either they would have to...

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

It now is back to the retrofit availably only for s/x. I guess once they change the availability message to actually include the 3/y the retrofit can be scheduled.

Installing a level 3 charger at home

If OP really wanted to do this, you could get a BoostCharger from freewire as it uses battery storage to allow a lower power input; it can also take split phase power as well. https://freewiretech.com/

Got pulled over today for having temp tag on back windshield

With regards to the OP, my understanding is that technically the paper plates for Texas from Tesla aren't dealer plates (given the rules about Tesla and dealerships), and taping it to the rear windshield is actually correct. One would need to look at the temp plate to see what kind they are. I...

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

    F) 3 months maybe, 6 months definitely But seriously, I would think Mid 2024 at this point, but I do not have high confidence in that either.
