2022 Tesla S refreshed questions...is this normal? Need input from current owners

I have that on mine too and the other S on the lot had the same issue, some worst than others. I think you're better off using touchup paint the service center said there's nothing they can do and likely to cause even more damage.

    Yoke Steering Wheel Issue

Is this forreals or some sort of joke? 🤣 I love road biking but no way in hell I'm wrapping that on a 100K car, Tesla should replace it if not I would take it to a shop to get it wrapped in real leather. Thanks for the laugh though!

Refreshed Model S - rear seat rattle

I would have tried a different service center, that front triangle window is known to have problems. I had the same issue on mine before but had to wait 3 months for parts. They managed to fix it but then they also managed to scratch up my passenger window. Two months later and still waiting on...

Have you de-scummed your glass yet?

No this is not the same, we're not talking about cleaning regular windshield glass. The Model S has a rubber like coating on the glass for whatever reason from factory, if you try to use microfiber towels on it, it will drag/stick making it impossible to clean. Again not all cars delivered has...

Refreshed Model S - rear seat rattle

Thanks I was going to try the PVC but seem like I may just have to create another service appt. So the true fix is replacing the actual latch on the seat itself. Good luck with the dashboard sound, from my experience the more things they take apart the higher chance of something else breaking...

Refreshed Model S - rear seat rattle

How's the PVC tubing holding up? I've used some left over PPF and it's still working for now but as I put the seat down I definitely see some wear on it.

Have you de-scummed your glass yet?

Problem with super clean windshield now is that every time there's drop of dirt you'll want to clean it. 😁

Have you de-scummed your glass yet?

I have a cabinet full of detailing equipment and I couldn't locate my plastic cleaner, so it was from laziness 🙃 was going to use PlastiX but the can of Plexus was closer and thought to give it a try since that doesn't require any pads etc. It's simple spray, work it in and wipe off. They use...

Have you de-scummed your glass yet?

I'm happy to report that I was able to do the interior glass in only a few minutes, I tried less aggressive method first using a plastic cleaner and to my surprise it took it off. Covered the dash and sprayed it with PLEXUS and worked it in with a microfiber, this is the way I will be cleaning...

Have you de-scummed your glass yet?

I've detailed many cars and the Tesla windshield for whatever reason has this rubber like film on it, the regular detailing methods don't work; claying, eraser, invisible glass and even alcohol won't remove it. It requires polishing. I used M205 to polish the windshield and it was so clean...

Help me choose. 2022 Model S or Model 3 Performance??

The simple answer is if you can afford it, wait and get the S. The interior alone takes it up to another level. Life is short, get what you want and enjoy it!

RPM Tesla Updated Carbon Fiber Spoiler

Not all trunks and spoilers are made exactly the same, this is a known thing with even the OEM spoiler failing at the edges. I have the OEM spoiler not adhering properly on my passenger side. I removed the Tesla OEM tape and used the following; 3M 06384 Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape...

Windshield haze and black interior discoloration

I used a polishing pad with some M205 on the exterior of the front windshield and the glass is super clear, give that a shot.

    Long term PPF?

PPF on a Tesla isn't any different than on other cars. I've had PPF on the past few cars in the last decade and yes they will eventually yellow, but only noticeable on white cars. I've had Xpel on my last car, 2016 with white paint that was garaged/hand washed/waxed and it yellowed around the 4...

DIY PPF on 2022 Blue Model S

How many hours did you spend on all of this? lol was it all worth it in the end or better to pay someone else to do it?
