    2014 model s won’t go into gear

Gtech gave you the procedure to reset after unplugging EPAS, I would try to NOT connect the epas again after reset. My EPAS had water ingress and failed, had to replace 2014 MS, not saying that is it, but you seemed keen to reconnect it, I would try at least once without, On FB...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Why wouldn't they 'fix' this by logging to a (maybe even crypted) partition on a USB drive, just like the dashcam, store on USB. Only the FW updates would wear the EMMC down.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Just corrosion on the bolts, or actual loose bolts and EPAS that cracked the steering rack? What is a quite a few and a bunch in numbers :) And I wonder when Tesla does issue a recall, I guess they don't do it voluntarily, maybe NHTSA forces them?

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

They suggested complete new wiring loom (better insulation) and steering rack. Not sure what you can do yourself. Check for corrosion is one (loom+connector) first step. On fixmyev you can find manuals on how to get to the EPAS.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

I think there is a whole dynamic behind recalls we don't know or cases we will only learn of when warranty expires. I heard for below issue only a couple suspect cases were reported, but usually they were resolved under warranty SB-18-32-002 - Loss of Power Steering Assist Due to Corrosion -...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Yes, they claim water enters from windshield into cable loom and EPAS now corroded, 100k miles. I looked at alternatives, tricky thing is ECU firmware and calibration.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

I suffered a "steering assist reduced" in my MS60 2014 I read all about the Tesla recall steering column bolts SB-18-32-002 but besides cold weather, and bolt corrosion, another cause for the steering to fail is windshield drain water that enters the cable loom to the steering rack and finally...
