The SAME exact issue happened to me.... made a video documenting and posted up on YouTube so others would know. As the OP in this thread said, it has to do with the wire harness clips. Tesla ordered a completely new wire harness and the service center is finally replacing mine next week along...

Mine wasn't missing a pin but mine was misaligned the moment I removed the old one but the new one went in no problem, took a little shimmy to make it happen with the new flaps and the new plastic pins; but, they worked and held great.
