The 100,000 Mile Club: beyond the 100K barrier in your Model S

140K Miles. Door handle issues as above. Just replace paddle gear, not entire $900 unit. Small bubble on LCD- ignore. Replaced brakes finally at 130K ($2000). All in all far cheaper than the torment I had with an Audi A8 or BMW 7 series. Now at maximum charge 230 miles. Service keeps asking if...

I live in NY...when should I put on my summer set?

I live where you live. My issue is the rims, not the tires. I prefer my 21" wheels but the pot holes make it a no-no before May. i run Dunlop Winter Run-Flats, the steel side wall seems to deal well with Model S' weight.

    Morgan EV3

Not what Elon had in mind about the world going electric...but this looks like an absolute blast to drive. The retro-futuristic Morgan EV3 could almost be a Star Wars pod racer | The Verge

    My feet are freezing!

It is really hard to believe that a Company that is at the current edge of software design for autonomous driving cannot create a simple patch for an HVAC system that used to work perfectly for the past three winters. C'mon Tesla, I really don't want this fixed in June:cursing:

    unhappy with my Audio

+1 For Reus. Cliff actually contacted me a few weeks ago that he was going to be in NY, and he had a FREE update for my 1rst generation system. I was floored. The word Free and Tesla rarely go together. The update is a nice improvement in the overall soundstage, but I was already very pleased...

    Warranty beyond 100,000 Miles?

Hey Tesla, for those of us who drank the kool-aid early on and have driven the hell out of our classic Model S', how about an option to purchase another extended warranty? It would be a nice gesture for those of us who went through your learning curve and supported the company when its survival...

    Running with No Front Plate?

Just for fun I thought I would revive this thread. 2+ years, 54K Miles, no ticket yet....your results may vary:rolleyes:

New Public HPWC at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh

Western PA is somewhat of a Super Charger desert so I thought I would share this with the TMC Community. Press Release: Carnegie Mellon's Electric Garage Adds Tesla High-Power Charger for Public Use-Carnegie Mellon News - Carnegie Mellon University

I now hate roadside mowing crews!

Somewhat OT. I had a patient who was driving at 60 MPH, driver's window half open. He passed a roadside lawnmower, the dislodged rock hit him squarely in his left eye, and ruptured the globe. I was able to put it back together with no improvement in vision due to concussive retina damage. The...

Self-Serving Philanthropy: Donate an HPWC to the University of Your Choice

My son was just admitted to Carnegie Mellon University:smile:. Looking at the Supercharger Map it quickly became evident to me that having a HPWC on campus would make drop off in the fall and subsequent road trip visits far easier. CMU has a facility specifically for EV's called the Electric...

    Slave Charger Dead

I finally got around to having my HWPC installed. The car is charging happily at 40 Amps but is reading 40/80 Amps despite being set for 80 Amps. Dip switches are correct and I called Tesla Service. They could see a fault in the slave charger. I know this was somewhat common on early builds. Is...

    Audiophiles - Sound Studio Package

I have an older Model S and thus I can't speak to any improvements that have been made on the SS in recent production. I went after-market with no regrets. For me it was about sound stage and cross-over. Both of which were suboptimal on the original premium sound system. I think it is safe to...

What are the Parallel Investment Plays?

Modine makes the vital battery cooling technology for the Model S. If Tesla is outsourcing such a critical component they either: 1) Can't get around Modine's IP. 2) decided it is not cost effective to develop and manufacture these components on their own. I agree with this author that this may...
