EVangelism - Who have you talked into an EV?

I am now up to 4 converts - brother (from M5) and 3 coworkers (from prius, bmw, motorcycle). Car pretty much sells itself.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

ah - thanks! and since others talking about windshield fluid warning, +1 from me (including trying to fill it and having the fluid disappear).

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Another bug I have seen with 4.0 is after using nav, once you exit nav back to music, the left side of the dash which normally displays the current audio source is blank. I have now gotten in a habit of rebooting the dash after every use of navigation to get the current audio display back. Have...

    Model S web access

gmail works fine although it is the browser version of course so you have to touch/drag scrollbars.

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

@contaygious - m4a are non-DRM itunes format files. m4p are the protected/DRM'd files. m4a should play fine on model S. m4p will not (unless you strip DRM from them).

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

@napabill - protected itunes content will only play in itunes (unless you strip DRM from it - lots of apps available to do that). Without DRM stripping, model S won't play the protected files. Also confirmed that when coming out of the new sleep mode, your USB stick is reparsed. My USB stick...

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

Just finished the second OTA today and software on my car is still at same 1.17.50 version. Strange that it applied the OTA twice.

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

USB stick - $20, 32GB and tiny/low profile. Is what I am using. No issues. Amazon.com: SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 32GB USB Flash Drive (SDCZ33-032G-B35): Computers Accessories - - - Updated - - - Just went down to my car and I have another OTA update waiting for me! Have no idea what this is...

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

@goaliemanshark - I am still halfway doubting my own measurement (was solo in car and keeping my eyes on the road and speedometer). Maybe my thumb brushed a little close the timer touchscreen a little early. I don't know. I want to repeat it with a passenger handling the stopwatch details but...

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

Yes - thanks Josh! (community effort here - no toes to step on - heck, you saved me work :) My top question still is whether anyone has benchmarked 0 to 60 time both before and after the update (on the same car of course). Doubtful this can occur in the bay area today as it is *wet*.

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

Ah - so right you are. Reverse tilt not busted - just the setting was erased. Restoring it is a bit finicky. Need to wait until dialog goes away asking if you want to save it to your profile, then it is saved for reverse. Finally got a chance to get out and test out the acceleration. I don't...

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

reverse mirror tilt busted. acceleration does seem to be improved (could be placebo). i'm not in a good area for 0 to 60 yet but will try that next. voice command works well (better than my wife's MB). i did have my first door handle issue (had to lock then unlock car) but currently think it...

    Software Download Delay/Sequencing

@Doug_G, I agree with you as well here (and is also often seen in android land where updates get pulled in case of early issues). Especially as with the current volume of MS on road is small so should not be any signing bottleneck on server side (I am hoping/assuming updates are signed per car).

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

The update is to 1.17.50. Car will automatically update itself at 2am overnight once it downloads the update (at least mine did).

    Model S Software/Firmware Updates

15 seconds guestimate from key being detected. Once I entered car was another 8 seconds or so of boot time. Caveat here was this was first wakeup since the OTA so it may have had more initialization work to do. Need to idle the car for a couple hours before I can test it again. Did not strike me...
