Beginning of the end for Tesla

We should expect Ford to be ahead of CT sales for much of this year. We can't judge CT sales until next year as Tesla does not expect to have production line as full capacity until then and today's sales are going to people who would buy a CT regardless of how good it is.

Unless lots of other electricity usage is moved to ofpeak, the cost of the electricity use by the house is higher on Octopus Go Intelligent compard to Octopus tractor.

Beginning of the end for Tesla

Assuming a mix of where the car is charged and £1k to get a home charger installed, it will take nearly 3 years before money is saved. Thats assuming no interest costs on the addational £1k cost of car and £1k charger install. But quality of life increase from EV when it can mostly be charged...

    Changes to Supercharging?

That change recently as practically all capital spending other then land can now be offset against profit (in the year of spending) when calculating corporation tax.

    Changes to Supercharging?

Charging companies are often taking site leases on for 20 years, but the full cost of installing the chargers (including grid connections and planning permission) are depreciated over the expected life of the charge. It reasonable to asusume replacement charger will cost a lot less and that...

DNO electrician installed wrong main fuse

As a child my parents cooked a meal when they got home after midnight with all the storage heater on. When my dad checked the meter cable had started to melt. He expects the cable screws were not correctly done up in the meter, but could not get the meter after it was replaced to do an...

    Octopus Energy Saving Sessions

With radical reduction in cost of PV panels there will be enough solar farms to make electricity practically valueless on bright summer days. Battery costs are now also reducing fast, so payments for using overpriced home batteries are unlikely to give reasonable investment returns. A home...

When does V2H charging on a rapid charger become better then grid connection? (Assuming lots of PV+batteries) Or have a generator rather then paying standing charge.

Interesting session, seems to only make sence for a small provider who have automatic control over batteries etc.

Powerwall / battery storage: can you share how you use it with UK energy tariffs?

I was assuming Fogstar Energy 15.5Kwh 48V Battery for £2500 the inverter cost depends on the wattage you want, but a hybred inverter is not much more then a basic PV inverter (if installing PV).

Powerwall / battery storage: can you share how you use it with UK energy tariffs?

Can get 2 to 3 times the capacity with Fogstar batteries on a 3rd party inveter for the cost of a PW. Could be much better option if have heatpump and wish to move all electricity usage to ofpeak.

Long term it would be better if all charging control was var the chargers, but that would require old chargers to be replaced and Octopus to surport all makes of smart chargers. I don't know how many Tesla are connected to chargers Octopus can't control and how that number changing.

With a MUCH higher of peak rate and not dynamic control of EV charging to use excess wind power.

I would like to see 3 rates, with a higher rate between 3pm-7pm and daytime rate being reduced for other times. So people with limited battery capacity use them when it is best for environment. I not convinced its economic for Octopus to reduce ofpeak rate more as so many people are now...
