For me personally, I have not had this issue since upgrading to 2018.10.5. I presume that is due to the modified unlock code in this release because my car doesn’t wake up every time I walk past. Now I generally have to press in the door handle, then it will wake up.

What you describe is similar to what I am seeing, except in my case it only started charging again when I walked past the car with my phone, waking it up. I was on 2018.4.9 until yesterday evening when I got 2018.10.5. I’ll report back if this FW changes the behavior. I suspect it will for me...

Thank you @iluvmacs , I had not tried unplugging my J1772 from the adapter as I never had to do that with my S. Strange... I'll give it a try tonight and report back my own findings here.

My issue is not opening it, but unlocking it so you can remove the J1772 adapter.

I use a J1772-based charger at my home and with my Model S it was sufficient to open the car door and the charge port would unlock so I could remove the cable. With the 3, pressing the “Open Charge Port” button on the center console has no effect on the lock. Instead, I have to use the Tesla app...

I took delivery yesterday in Houston. I only got to drive the car for an hour before I had to go on a trip (by plane), so I will have a more full report next week. But in that one hour, I was very impressed by the car!

Did you get this by email? Was that after submitting your final payment? I have the submit final payment action on the My Account page with final amount due, but there is no final paperwork. I assume you got that only after making the final payment?
