  • Thank you for all of your posts on how to correctly wire a gen 2 Tesla Home Wall Charger. I learned a lot and it made me very comfortable to have my electrician install it using conduit, a 60 amp breaker and (I believe) 6awg THHN.

Cool--thanks. Yeah, I've found a fascination with talking about electrical installs here. I'm not an electrician by trade, but am an electrical engineer who does design on computer chips, so had the basics in school.
Do you have a visual of the adaptor removal procedure?

When you press AND HOLD the button on the J1772 charging handle, while it is plugged in, it sends an interrupt signal into the car to stop charging and unlocks the port. So while still holding that latch button down, use your other hand to grab hold of the adapter near the port. Then with both hands, pull them out together as one piece.

Oh, you're at the store? And I see that was Wednesday at like 6:30PM, so I'm sure I'm way too late. I was out of town Wednesday through Friday and I generally just check in on this during the day. Anyway, in case it ever comes up again, here's my code if it does come in useful: http://ts.la/rockford6226

And for future use, this method of putting a comment on someone's profile doesn't send any notification to the person. A private message directly to another user is a different function here, and I would get an email notification of that.
Just wanted to say thanks about something you posted earlier a year ago about “charging reduced” warning..
I was at dealership charger with my MX and limited to 22 amps. It was a bit frustrating, and I wanted to know what I could do. As soon as I tried your solution to ramp it up slowly (limiting it to 25 or so at first), I’ve got it to 29/30 amps, where I would have been stuck at 22 previously. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the posts on the charging and Boise service tech. If you can provide the contact information on the service tech covering Boise I would appreciate it. Email is [email protected] Do not need anything now but reallly do not want to drive to SLC to get service. It would be great to connect. Sounds like you have owned for a while and would love to hear any lessons learned.
