Elon tweets "pure vision" will solve phantom braking

So what would you consider a proper test? I'd love to drive mirror to mirror down the highway for identical conditions, but based on how it reacts to illuminated signs, I'd be worried about their behavior influencing each other. Would the same stretch of road but, one after another be okay? If...

Elon tweets "pure vision" will solve phantom braking

We had to drive our trade in (2018 Model 3) several hundred miles to pick up our new car. It was a two day affair so we got to compare AP and other features directly in the same conditions. The auto high beam aggressiveness in the radarless cars is completely different from the radar cars. I...

Elon tweets "pure vision" will solve phantom braking

You still have full control over the state of your high beams, and whether or not to engage auto high beams but only when you are driving manually.

    2021.4.18.2 on new MY

Confirmed in my new AWD. Interior cam also penalizes you for looking in your mirrors, which you have to do when AP is locked 10mph below the flow of traffic.

Elon tweets "pure vision" will solve phantom braking

It is actually connected to TACC/AP in 2021 cars without radar. I just picked up our new one, and it is every bit at bad at night as described. But to the point of this thread... I do a lot of driving on the highways out here in the midwest for work in my Model S. Part of our route from...

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

We just took quite a trip to trade in our old Mid Range and pick up my wife's new Model 3. I had over 500 miles each way in each car to directly compare them in the same conditions. I wanted to download my thoughts on Tesla Vision. I think the TLDR version is that this new system was...

    Tempest TPMS compatibility

I have been considering buying a set of Tempest wheels for my 2017 S. Can anyone positively confirm that the older style TPMS units physically fit in the new style of wheel? I have a good lead on a set off a car that 100% came with the BLE sensors. I don't want a set of wheels I can't attach...

Buying a used Model S - advice needed

If you are looking for a $45k-$50k car, you should hold out a couple more months. If you were cross-shopping a Model 3 of the same price, there is no reason to sacrifice charge rate and longevity just for the looks. You need to wait for a 100D to come into that price range. This will give you...

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

You know, we only see each side repeater once. Perhaps it's not that the closeup is weird, but that is has two different repeaters. Perhaps this is more of a "Swatchbook" build. That would also explain the mismatched interior.

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

Clearly, this is not a production car. This has probably been on the road for a while. In fact, the very people who took these photos seem to agree with me that this is a 3-6 month old development mule. But let's go over the obvious giveaways. - No defroster. That is something that 100% can...

    About that "yoke" steering wheel

It's an old dev car so it's irrelevant

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

Don't worry, it must be a dev car. There is no chance this is a final build, because it doesn't look like any other build. To the list! - Lower dash is the wrong color, black instead of white - Chrome repeaters cams - No interior camera - Chips on the paintwork, dents, brake dust. Has been on...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

And yet the interaction I predicted did play out... That being said, it is now resolved.
