    Car alarm during update

Just updated my 2016 S90D (AP1) and got the same alarm fault. About 80-90% into the update, then got a dash alert saying I need to contact Tesla service for the software update. Glad I didn't wait for the usual overnight update.

    Best 19 tires replacement

Check to see if Bridgestone offers their 60 day free exchange policy in your area? It's supposed to take the risk away from trying their newest tires, though if you are limited to other Bridgestones then it obviously limits the pool of replacements. If their top of the line GT isn't for you, you...

    Best 19 tires replacement

Their review makes me feel more positive about the decision to purchase, as they seem to have more confidence in the tire than my limited cornering would suggest. These didn't seem as stiff, but it could have been the road or other imperfections. For flagship tires they were a slightly better...

    Best 19 tires replacement

You got an engine with your Tesla?! man did I get ripped off! :-) I completely agree on the road noise comments, these are incredibly quiet.

    Best 19 tires replacement

I should add that I was told the tires would get better once they are broken in. I can’t see how the noise would improve but am looking forward to a more sporting drive without compromising on the GT aspects of the tire. My garage smells like a tire shop just from the off gassing from these four...

    Best 19 tires replacement

I have been away due to work and haven’t put any more mileage on them, but will get you an answer after a bit of spirited driving. My guess based on the 500 km so far is that the Eagles were better at cornering as their sidewalls were stiffer. The QTrack seem “built for comfort” less for rapid...

    Best 19 tires replacement

From the last month of the Eagles to now, 300% from two years ago to now, far harder to say but a swag would be 25%? This is somewhat unfair comparing a three year old tire with brand new, but there it is. I'll simply say that with the windows down, rolling away from a stop sign i still can't...

    Best 19 tires replacement

After reviewing this and a few other tire threads I decided to swap my OEM Goodyear Eagles for the Bridgestone Quietrack and am very very happy with them. Only about 500 km so far, so I can't comment of longevity but they are rated up to 130,000 km (I think the Model S 19' version is 80,000 km...

    Conti PureContact™ LS

Any feedback on energy consumption with these? Better / worse than the OEM Eagles?

    Drivers seat a tad loose

So to close the loop on this: Tesla says that bulletin I was told about applies to the in-house manufactured seats and not the Reccaro series that my car has. They said they are aware of this issues but have no known fix at this time. I got the impression that since they now make their own...

    Opinions on centre cap colours

eBay also has a number of people selling centre cap emblems in different colours - if you wanted you could get a large black sticker for these caps and the resin-domed version from 3DCentreCaps. The latter are hand made and take a few weeks to get to you, but with two sets you can try out black...

    Opinions on centre cap colours

I love the red centre caps but agree that they may not work as well on the bright finish. I'm very happy with my 3Dcarsticker centre caps.

Will Sensors Work When Covered by PPF

I have PPF on the front with no issues so far. I saw two M3s the other day, both wrapped and PPF'd. Both owners said they have had no issues with sensors for parking or AP either. Lots of owners have had one or both done to their cars so far and none have mentioned an issue. Not exactly a...

    Drivers seat a tad loose

I was speaking to a Tesla Ranger this past weekend at the Oakville SC and he mentioned that a new engineering bulletin has just been released on a permanent fix. He suggested giving the service depts some time to read and understand the fix, as well as get the parts in, then call in to arrange...

    Calling all military/ veteran owners

Currently serving (Canadian Army) and get questions and stares anytime I drive on base. "Lightning" certainly doesn't fit in with the pickup/Jeep/Harley/Mustang crowd.
