    Tesla readies revamped Model 3

Still have my 2012 Nissan LEAF, the 2nd one imported into the state of my residence at the time. I ordered it with a $99 deposit in 2010 and my 2012 was delivered in February 2012. Still a wonderful package today but the range is a pathetic 30 miles or so, down from about 74 new. The 24kWh...

Tesla Vision - Removal of UltraSonic Sensors

Agred, and that’s what we’ve done. Our 2018 Model 3 now enjoys 2nd car status as we now favor our Hyundai Ioniq5 Limited (top trim in US). The Hyundai replaced our previous 2nd car, a 2012 Nissan LEAF so we too keep our vehicles for awhile. Then there’s our 1964 Ford Thunderbird and yeah...

    Tesla Semi

    Good to know.

2023 Model 3 without USS and proximity functionality [park assist / summon not available]

Does it matter what’s believed? The sensors are gone.

Tesla Vision - Removal of UltraSonic Sensors

Really? Then why does v40.4.1 have restrictions that the radar versions do not? Examples: 5mph less speed on autopilot, mandatory wipers, mandatory high beams, no “1” following distance. And then there are the deficiencies you yourself note in post #1100. For you, and for me quite frankly...

Tesla Vision - Removal of UltraSonic Sensors

Agreed, but usually does not mean less capability just a different way to achieve the same. Vision hasn’t achieved sameness. Love the football reference though, thanks for the chuckle. Sometimes a substitute is actually better than that being substituted. Ask any baseball fan about...

    Supercharger - Thomasville, NC

Could you elaborate a bit? The Lex site is a stone’s throw from US52/US29/US70 and Business I-85. From I-85 itself, the site is about 12 minutes away…is that what you’re referring to?

    Tesla readies revamped Model 3

IIRC, you’ve had one option for a year or two already: the Ioniq5. Ticks everything but the leather seating; Hyundai uses something called H-Tex whatever that is. But steering wheel covered in real leather. Just one datapoint here, others to follow certainly.

    Tesla readies revamped Model 3

Exactly! And exactly why we bought a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq5. All boxes ticked except for the Ioniq5’s ventilated seating surfaces which are something called H-Tex whatever that is. Steering wheel is real leather though, and the H-Tex is better appearing to us than the Tesla fake leather. Can’t...

Tesla hit with (yet another) lawsuit by Florida man (not THAT Florida man) for deception/lying about FSD capabilities

Aaahh, another Musk quote stating a timeline for delivering something. Obviously gospel, especially in light of previous similar statements.

Possibly. But if the spies are any good, how would we know. Though given GRU’s recent data breaches, perhaps the spy network isn’t what it used to be.

Tesla Vision - Removal of UltraSonic Sensors

This. And no, not when a substitute is available, just when Tesla wants. Tesla removed radar without a direct substitute evidenced by the additional restrictions placed on the driver by the “kinda, sorta” substitute Vision. USS have already been removed from new cars with not even a “kinda...

Tesla Vision - Removal of UltraSonic Sensors

Yes, you’re correct but I am in one of the “other” Salisburys. Not the much older (c1220’s as New Sarum?) one in the UK, nor the one in Maryland, but the one in North Carolina founded in 1753 about halfway between Charlotte and the High Point-Greensboro-Winston-Salem triad. Took delivery in...
