Given the recent run up and the S&P date is there anything that would preclude you from buying say $100k worth of shares this week? Is it "safer" to wait till after the inclusion date to see where things settle?

Kind of my uneducated thought on this as well. There will definitely be dips along the way but I can't imagine anyone betting against long term growth. And my long term I mean even 6 months. The future is wide open.

No one thinks TSLA is going to drop/crash given the incredible performance lately?

Intersting conversation with my MIL today who spoke to her Edwards Jones financial advisor. She specifically asked about TSLA and he discouraged it. "I can't recommend TSLA and we are not allowed to invest in TSLA". Interesting because she is completely content making 2-4% on her money...

When it comes down to it, there is no other stock that I have as much confidence in as TSLA. Its tempting to try and grab a few of the big gainers short term along the way but the issue is I don't know of any! Therefore, I will be investing what I have available to me in TSLA. I'd be gambling...

All I know is I am bitter at myself for not rolling over an IRA I had available to me many years ago and go with TSLA. Here I am sitting here trying to jump and hope its at an OK time. Could wait for the pull back.....but that just may never happen.

Just opened a TD Ameritrade account. I should be able to manage my own IRA at this point starting next week.

It's either pick from the usual Fidelity funds or go IRA and have the ability to pick stocks as well as funds. Given that option why not put 100k or even 200k into TSLA stock? Hindsight is 20/20, could have bought years ago but I figure I'd be saying the same thing 2-3 years from now. Of...
