Ha! Long range Rwd from Ventura to Big bear on one charge

I’m glad you made it home, but I wouldn’t recommend trying it again. I actually got stuck at 0% in big bear and had to be towed down the mountain (the following morning). I had the same amount of charge as you at the top. The issue was, halfway down the mountain there was an accident (not...

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

This is common for doing a chrome delete. Check out chrome delete "plastidip" videos on youtube. Works very well and much easier than doing the whole car since you can just use spray cans.

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

I'm currently re-doing the chrome in vinyl for better durability (and since I didn't spray the chrome great). It's doable if you have the patience. There's some chrome delete threads here that give good info. Autoflex will be a lot better than Raail if you can do it.

    Chrome Delete Mirrors

Yeah, the videos are very helpful. I might wait till @Kenriko gets the chrome delete kit ready to see if there's another approach. If not, I think this is probably doable (considering I've done everything but the mirror so far).

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

I didn't spray the door panels. You can, but it's significantly more work since you have to mask off the door parts and whatnot. I don't have photos on me right now, but the transition from Blue to Midnight Silver Metallic (the original color) looks pretty cool. If the car were originally red or...

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

I didn't have previous experience painting in this way (with a large spray gun). It holds up very well to washing and is very durable. The key is spraying it on the recommended amount so that it's thick. It'd take a lot of scrubbing with a sharp tool to get it off during washing. To remove it...

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

If you haven't done vinyl wrap before then this should be significantly easier since vinyl wrapping can be pretty difficult (despite what youtube videos show). If you end up going this route, feel free to reach out with any questions.

    Chrome Delete Mirrors

Thanks @slade037 for starting this new thread. I asked 4agemr2 from the chrome delete model 3 video to chime in here if he gets a chance. Maybe he can share some insights into how he was able to use the template and lay the vinyl down without the backing.

DIY Chrome Delete with Plasti Dip

We've been talking about the chrome delete on the model3 forum too. If you end up doing the mirrors, I'd love to hear how it goes and see any pictures as you do it. The video shows that you can pivot the mirror for better access. I'm a little worried about trying it though. DIY Chrome Delete

The verdict on coatings isn't clear. Most have no effect since the coating will just be absorbed and have no effect. There's "dip coat" that you can put on after washing it that makes it smoother to the touch and resist water. So, we'll see how things go.

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

Thanks! I really wish I had the energy to help other people. Unfortunately, the amount of work makes it hard to want to work on someone else's hah. I'd be happy to give tips though on things I could have done better. :)

DIY Chrome Delete with Plasti Dip

Looks great! I just finished spraying my whole car (I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap). The chrome didn't turn out so well on the window trim and door handles (got some lifting when removing the masking), so I'm in the process of wrapping in vinyl myself. It's about $80 in...

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

It's hard to say. It's durable overall in the sense that it took me a while to remove the wrap on the fog lights. I have to rug with a plastic knife for about a minute to get all the way through to the base to unwrap them. With that said, it's a little soft too so I don't know that it's...

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

I used the advanced sprayer from dip your car. It's a minimum requirement (to get good results) with Proline. It came out decent. I could of gotten if even smoother, but since it was my first time I was worried about getting runs so I didn't spray as wet as I could have to get it even more...

I sprayed my Model 3 with a custom blue Liquid Wrap

So far, no issues with any of the sensors and autopilot works great still. :D
