200 kWh Roadster Pack: How is Tesla Pulling This Off?

Handling/weight arguments aside, I'm not sure its apropos to directly compare horsepower figures between an ICE car with a multi-speed gearbox and an electric car with a single reduction gear. Even with the torque advantages of an electric motor, 1,300hp through a single gear does not behave the...

Vendor MPP At Global Time Attack Superlap With A P3D! Nov 8/9

Good stuff Sasha and Cameron. I couldn't resist arguing with some trolls in the comments of the video claiming they weren't impressed with the lap times. They tried to cite a stock Civic Type R rolling on RE71r's running a 1:57 at that track, but I had to point out that the RE's are much...

P3D Does 11.77 sec at the Track

That may not be a safe assumption. If that were really the case I have to wonder why the max current limit in the firmware is 1200 amps. I can't help but wonder if they are deliberately limiting the power of the 3 until the S/X gets a drivetrain refresh. We will have to wait and see I guess.

P3D Does 11.77 sec at the Track

His detail of the Model 3 firmware below reveals that the battery is capable of about 480kW, which is something like 640hp. His later breakdown of the inverter shows that two of them should easily be able to handle that much power.

Blog Model 3 Performance Faster Than Advertised – 0-60 MPH in 3.18 Seconds

I've said this elsewhere, but I'm curious how much power Tesla will add OTA in the future. According to the firmware hacked by Ingineerix, the battery is capable of delivering over 600hp(480kW). His teardown of the drive unit showed that the inverters should easily be able to handle that.

Model 3 Trunk Vulnerable to burglar!!!Owners be aware!!!

Uh, not sure why this is news. Both of my legacy ICE cars automatically unlock the doors and drunk when I put it in park by default. Its extremely common.
