UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

Who knows at this point. It's all very frustrating. I can say that the filter change they just did has eliminated the smell for now and they say they didn't do anything else. I do remember hearing that when this happens the filters don't necessarily look bad or even smell UNTIL they get wet and...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

Another update if anyone is interested. About a month ago I sucked it up and had mobile tech out to do another cleaning. Fortunately the tech understood my situation and did it for free. Well about a week ago the smell came back. Worse than ever. Smells light straight vinegar now vs. mild...

Autopilot nor Cruise will engage 50% or more of drives

After at least a month and a half of no problems, the issue returned for me this morning on 2022.20.8. Only noticed it one long drive this morning, so I'll keep an eye on it. No cruise or autopilot, display doesn't show other vehicles. I haven't had the problem since late June/early July and at...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

FWIW, Tesla rep who I've spoken to multiple times on the phone about this issue has said that it doesn't matter for normal use, but he's heard of people saying that turning off recirculate ~5 minutes before arriving at your destination has helped. I can say for me it doesn't seem to matter. Nor...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

Update on my service request for this. Tesla scheduled me a mobile visit with a line item of: Model 3/Y HVAC Air Leak Sealing - Engineering Study. This seemed very promising to me. I was thinking they finally found something new to try and are addressing this issue. A couple of days later I got...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

Oh yes sorry. I should have mentioned I do that every time as well. I guess it may be possible there is something further in there that I can’t see or reach after removing everything.

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

I’ve been following this thread closely, but this is my first comment. I have had the problem many times before with my 3 year old model 3, and like many of you I was getting away with doing the cleaning and filter change once or twice a year. After getting it done for free via goodwill the...

Autopilot nor Cruise will engage 50% or more of drives

Could be related, but that feels like something different. For me, and I believe everyone having this issue, once it’s gone it’s gone for at least that whole drive. The only time it may reset is between drives.

What is best for the battery?

Not that I'm aware of. SR looks like it's going to be SR+ locked, but SR+ is the larger pack with less cells, so charging to 100% would have the same (negligible or otherwise) downsides. I think what Elon is saying is 90-95% is fine regardless of which model you have. The real reason to not...

Which one to buy RWD or AWD

I live in Austin. I bought AWD strictly for the better performance, when the actual Performance model was just too much more ($10k) to justify. Range wise, for my situation I could get away with a base Nissan Leaf if I had to, so that was a non-factor. If you're already at the top of your...

Owners with No AP - Thoughts/Plans/Speculation on What Happens Next

Good point. And I’m not worried enough to do anything about it either way, but if it were true, it would be the principal of it that bothers me more than the dollar value.

Owners with No AP - Thoughts/Plans/Speculation on What Happens Next

So I'm in the camp of: "I paid what the car was worth and I'm happy with it" even though I've now only had the car for just over a week and the price dropped $1000 ($500 difference in AP and $500 in paint). It happened one day after my return period expired, but that wasn't enough to make me...

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Pretty normal. I had a few different dates assigned systematically before I actually got a VIN, and even then the dates changed afterwards. When I finally spoke to my delivery advisor, he told me to basically ignore the systematic dates. That said, it generally means *something* is happening...

    LR AWD Waiting Room

I did get my car yesterday (Blue AWD), but I found out that it was just because I got lucky. I'm in Austin and someone in Houston had ordered it a while ago and then couldn't take delivery so it got reassigned to me. 2019 VIN built mid-March. Good luck everyone waiting! I hope yours come through...

Tesla confirms HW3 computer in production, FSD demo on April 22nd [Rescheduled]

I've seen this mentioned elsewhere too, the idea of a view spec link pre-delivery. I haven't taken delivery yet (scheduled this weekend) on my Model 3, but I do know it was manufactured in late March. I doubt I'll have HW3, but curious to check and can't find this view spec option anywhere. I...
