Looks like a great project.
I have a 2018 Model S and also hate the feeling of being left out in the cold by both Tesla and the aftermarket guys.
I'd be happy to test / help where I can. If I'm of no use but you get a good outcome, I'll just buy the bits and have a crack at it myself :)
You have to remember that Electrek is just a guy.
Reading the articles on his site needs to be treated pretty much the same as reading a post on the Tesla Owners Worldwide group on Facebook; it's one person's opinion.
He's fairly well informed but still...
Yes, they are dreadfully dim. I have to have creep mode enabled and rest a foot on the brake pedal to get some extra illumination from the brake lights!
Personally, I find it much more controlled to let creep roll the car back while I cover the brake.
I have to reverse into my garage. There is a lip at the entry and the car only just fits in the length of the garage. Having to feather the throttle enough to get over the lip and then having to...
Sawdust? What you been eating, man?
Perhaps I am a fairly stupid fleshbag of guts, other animals and plants....
Also, I have creep enabled. Can't bear it off. Parking in tight garages, (tiny) Swiss parking spaces etc is a horrible experience without creep.
Just a thought:
I am able to blend from regen to friction brakes every time I want to come to a complete stop. I am a fairly stupid bag of flesh and I get it absolutely bang on, every single time. Is it really that hard for Tesla to engineer? I get that they need to use regen to a point and...
That's the first I heard about the one pedal driving not coming to 'older' S & X. It will be a huge shame if you're correct that only the Raven S & X will get it.
I have a 2018 S100D and am really hoping to get Stopping Mode. It's a no brainer for an EV...
There was a sketchy bluetooth phone bug where if someone called you, they could not hear you. If you called them, they could hear you fine.
I am sure there are plenty of other little gems but that's a fairly annoying example.
Sorry. For some reason my brain told me that you'd replied to my post. Mea culpa. It must be giddy from being in the first few for this update too. Feels good, huh!?
