PSA, big recall for Schneider Electric (includes Square D and QO load centers)

The HOM breakers are 1" thick while the QO breakers are 3/4" thick. But at least some HOM panel models also support plug-on neutral breakers. The panel Tesla installed for me does, for example.

Caution - Annual Service - Car power-down - GPS issue

If you read back through the pages of this thread, you'll see descriptions of the cable that I made for facilitating a firmware update in the Garmin GPS sensor on 2.x cars. I have loaned that cable to many owners. Now, however, due to failing health I won't be able to handle sending out the...

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

Yes, bank account is the method required for Tesla's automated payment system. That did not work for my brokerage account, hence the CC. 3/10/22 - full payment 5/13/22 - interconnection request sent to PG&E 5/19/22 - PG&E approved PTO

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

Is your system operating in self-consumption mode? If so, has it been performing as expected? That was my understanding as well. I paid the whole about by credit card over the phone, but that may have been unwise because there was substantial additional delay requiring multiple phone calls...

New Powerwall Advanced Options [Toggles for charging from and discharging to grid from powerwalls]

My interconnect agreement for NEM2 does not include that checkbox, but the Application Summary document that PG&E emailed back upon receipt of the interconnect agreement includes for both Powerwalls the line "Charging mode: No Grid Charging".

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

We are in Sunnyvale, so near the south end of the bay but not near the coastal ocean. We may be more temperature tolerant than some, and we do have a whole house fan to help move the heat out of the house in the evening. Today outside is 91.4 and inside 71.2 without A/C. Inside will go higher...

    Powerwall: Three-phase house

It's curious that the records returned by the /api/devices/vitals endpoint include some members hinting that 3-phase support is planned: ISLANDL1L2PhaseDelta float64 ISLANDL1L3PhaseDelta float64 ISLANDL2L3PhaseDelta float64 For our USA split single phase...

Best charging practice/set up for a Roadster (1.5 in North America in specifically)

I have Roadster VIN 33 which came with the same original HPWC. I bought a 50A electric stove cord with a NEMA 14-50 plug at Home Depot and installed it in the HPWC. (For my location, I routed it out the top.) I had previously installed a 14-50 socket in my garage for another EVSE.

    Key Fob won't lock door

In a pinch you could harvest a switch from the unprogrammed spare key.

Caution - Annual Service - Car power-down - GPS issue

    Probably. How about open source?

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

Followup to this post of mine on 4/24: I called on 4/29 and got confirmation that FinOps had completed the required action, so the CSR was going to contact the interconnection team regarding submission of the request. On 4/30 and 5/2 I received emails about new documents in my account to sign...

Caution - Annual Service - Car power-down - GPS issue

Nevermind that Tesla could have fixed the date problem with a simple change to the firmware in the VMS itself, which they should have applied without charge.

Caution - Annual Service - Car power-down - GPS issue

I don't think anyone at Tesla has a cable like the one I made and have loaned to many owners. The cable that some Tesla service centers might have is one that connects to the Molex connector where the GPS sensor hooks up to the wiring harness behind the left front wheel. Mine hooks up to one...

    Heat generation from Powerwall+

It's captive so you should feel it be loose once it clears the threads.
