    I have a suggestion: how about a general PRODUCTION model S on the road thread? I know there is one, but it is full of Betas etc.. I think it would be nice to have one page filled with production shots only.

    Powder Coating Wheels

    Powder coating is extremely sturdy and very good for wheels. I have modified cars for my whole life, so I am no stranger to powder coating wheels. It should run you $50 to $150 per wheel depending upon where you live.

    Model S Exterior - Paint

    You can do multiple things to make the chrome darker. I would use a clear coat with a tint mixed into it. Personally, I would color match most of it verse just tint it.

    I wouldn't smoke them. They would look better sprayed with a candy red which would look cleaner/more oem.

    I'm not too surprised by the badge. Like every car company, they want to have a way to differentiate the battery packs, which in this case could be looked at as trim lines. If you spring for the 85kw battery, you obviously have a more expensive car, hence they badged it so people will know...
