Ok so I go to Bristol Service centre for them to fit the correct sim in my car after the MCU2 upgrade (yet another work day lost to Bristol Service Centre UK ). Whilst I was there I ask for the rear wheels to be exchanged with the front ones due to tyre wear (paid job).... just got back ....and...

I wish for us AP1 owners they would do a teslacam for the front camera, I can't install a dashcam in Model S as nowhere for all the wiring to go and would just look messy. But we do have a really good camera that I see no reason why Teslacam can not at least record front and back camera's that...

Modem isn't LTE capable if it is installed with a 3G Sim, it's then only capable of 3G. You could say that my S85 is capable of 1,000bhp but instead of the Plaid motor installed they gave it the S85 motor....but it is '1,000bhp capable' :)

Just had my S85 2014 AP1 done at Bristol as well last month. Bit annoyed at Bristol service centre as I had been their twice spending all day there due to MCU1 issues that they denied was actually anything more than a 'clearing cache' issue... Worst one was waiting all day only to be sent home...

They managed to sort out your LTE over the air?

It clearly states on their website that LTE is part of the upgrade. Part of the reason I went for it and not wait for the recall fix of the MCU1. Youtube and Netflix is pretty pointless on 3G.

Well it's not going to work out cost effective for them as they're going to have to pull it all apart again to sort out the sim.

Mine was made in Sept to Dec 2014 so just missed out on LTE and is 3G. I have never seen the 3G change to LTE or 4G after the MCU2 update even right next to the new communication Tower where my phone says 4G full bars.

Cheers for the reply, I have never seen the signal since MCU2 upgrade change from 3G, checked my phone and full 4G bars but no 4G on Tesla screen. I can't get Netflix screen to let me log in either, UI is super small and unusable..never easy when they 'fix' something.

Or ...ignore my long rambling previous post. Could someone be so kind as to confirm that my previous 3G connection should have been upgraded (it is still 3G after MCU2 upgrade).

Just had the MCU2 upgrade done to 2014 Dec issue S85 as after may visits and calls regarding MCU1 failing issues I just thought that I would like my heating to work, internet connection to come back on and the car to stop rebooting if I looked at it the wrong way. Very happy with the screen...
