upcoming Massachusetts off-peak electric rates for EV charging??

Yeah, the fact that the ChargeSmart rebate still works no matter which supplier you have put me over the edge. I signed up and will play the musical chairs game with the rates....

upcoming Massachusetts off-peak electric rates for EV charging??

I don't doubt that you can save money doing this, for me, the issue is that they tend to be teaser rates which change when your initial term expires, and then you have to shop around again. And many of the best rates are for new customers only, which means you can't jump back and forth for the...

upcoming Massachusetts off-peak electric rates for EV charging??

Interesting, maybe I have to pay attention more to the 3rd party suppliers now...Can I ask who you selected and what your rate and contract period is? For @canbonbon, here is how the rebate shows up on the bill. It was a small amount this month as the car got disconnected when Tesla changed...

upcoming Massachusetts off-peak electric rates for EV charging??

I believe you can only get this program if National Grid is your supplier, since it's a National Grid program. If you have a 3rd party supplier, I don't think you would be eligible, even though you still pay National Grid the transmission charges. The login to the program uses your National Grid...

upcoming Massachusetts off-peak electric rates for EV charging??

Not sure I understand, this is an off-peak charging rebate, nothing to do with solar generation. You have to be a National Grid residential customer and when you sign up using your car or charger account, they can track your charging. For each kWh that you charge in off-peak times (anywhere in...

upcoming Massachusetts off-peak electric rates for EV charging??

National Grid has a Charge Smart program that rebates you 3 cents (winter) or 5 cents (summer) per kWh of off-peak charging. Does that count? You don't even have to charge at home, just anywhere in MA.

The old lines have been removed and new lines painted. Interesting, they placed the pedestal more towards the middle, probably to try to mitigate non Tesla cars a bit… Meter is still not live though..

I had a chance to take a look at the meter today, and unfortunately, it is not live. So it appears there is at least one or more further steps by National Grid before Tesla can come commission the site :(....

No, I considered doing that but I was too lazy to stop. I think the fact that both the meter and the transformer cabinet now has a lock on it is a good sign that it is live.

I can confirm that as of today, there is now a meter and a lock on the transformer cabinet , so it looks like it is live and just needs Tesla commissioning.

Had a chance to take a pic today. I’m pretty sure someone has been here and did some work. The 1-4 label is definitely new and corresponds to the 1-2 and 1-3 labels I see on the other transformers nearby. The only difference is there is no lock and yellow lock labels, which means it’s not live...

Drove by quickly today, and I'm pretty sure the transformer now has National Grid stickers and commissioning numbers on it that weren't there before. I could be wrong, sorry, didn't take a picture...

That's a big honking transformer, and indeed, upon taking a closer look, it is a 1500 kVA unit, which is about twice what most sites utilize. I wonder if they are short of the 750 kVA units and are installing an oversize unit to get it up and running.
