MCU2 won’t startup after hard reset

Could also be a DC to DC converter though?

MCU2 won’t startup after hard reset

Oh, also for context, I recently took my car for service less than 2 months ago to replace air compressor tank for suspension and while there had the 12v battery replaced.

MCU2 won’t startup after hard reset

original owner of 2013 P85 here with 136k on odometer. Got a DI_u014 code a few days ago but after soft reset managed to get it to start up and went to work. Worked for rest of that day. Next day same error code pops up and soft reset doesn’t solve problem. Made appointment with Tesla service...

    eMMC recall vs. MCU2 Upgrade

I just had mine swapped for MCU2 and gotta say I'm very happy with it. I don't need all of the self-driving stuff since I live on such a small island and this upgrade made my 8 year old car feel like I swapped for a new one.

    Moving to Oahu, need recs

I've never needed a chademo adapter as I usually charge at home or work and those HECO (Hawaiian Electric) stations are the only chademo chargers I'm aware of here and they only rolled out more recently. I second what Akikiki said above. You'll often find that the J1772 enabled chargers around...

    Moving to Oahu, need recs

Not sure if Model 3's come with the J1772 adapter, but probably did as it's the most common plug in America. A lot of the plugs around town don't require anything special than that adapter, but some require you to create an account which you use to unlock the charging cradle. I suggest you make...

    Elon Musk

Agreed. That's the first I've heard of this. All of Musk's detractors point to his dads emerald mine for the reason he's so successful but as far as I can tell his dad had zero to do with anything for Elon except mentally abuse him.

    Replacing instrument cluster

I'm not blaming your instructions, they're actually quite detailed. I'm blaming my inexperience working with circuit boards and do hope anybody else working on a Gen I will learn from my mistake :D I'll dm you.

    Replacing instrument cluster

My worst nightmare. Looks like I broke the post where the ribbon cable connector attaches to the motherboard. I was reading the instructions from others and it says “pull up slowly from the edges of the black trim” and it looks like I have a different connector. These have white retaining clips...

    Replacing instrument cluster

Got my Gen. 1 new screen from ReelDeal EV and installing but got this white screen. Any ideas what’s wrong? I tried checking the ribbon cable but they seem to be on. Maybe I damaged one? Would that be the smaller or larger ribbon?

    NHTSA Investigates Failing MCUs

I'm getting goo screen on the instrument cluster instead. I always thought that even though it's not a safety issue, Tesla really should replace that as that is not normal wear and tear. They quoted me $1600 to replace.

    NHTSA Investigates Failing MCUs

Yeah, if the pattern holds. I've been meaning to get my ecu shipped to root it to prevent future problems, but this is my daily driver and it's a real hassle to take this all apart, ship it out, wait for the turnaround time and no car in the meantime. Tesla really should do right and fix this...
