Model 3 Highland faster home charging

hey folks, just fyi.....have a Tesla home charger, normal charge rate on my 2018 Model 3 was 42 miles/hour max. On my new Highland, getting 45 miles/hour at 48A, 232V. Just pointing it out, good result.

12V wire tap for radar detectors in Model 3 Highland

In the past there were various wires run down the sides of the drivers side door hinge that were hot 12V, could use a t-clip to fasten onto. That's what I did on my last car. The new one doesn't have the 12V in the arm rest anymore, it's in the middle storage area under the phone chargers...

12V wire tap for radar detectors in Model 3 Highland

no, only have the flash drive port, but that would be cool if it were there!.....I'm wondering if there's another port elsewhere that I'm not aware of?

12V wire tap for radar detectors in Model 3 Highland

Hey folks, I started a similar thread for my Uniden R3 when I purchased a model 3 in 2018,.....just picked up the highland, awesome car. Has anyone hard wired their radar detector in the new model, and if so, how?

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I'll add my experience....traded in my old Model 3.....ordered LR highland, white exterior, black interior, 18" 3/26 ordered 4/8 received VIN 4/15 took delivery in Paramus NJ Delivery process was really well organized, drove away about 30min after my appointment time. Paperwork was a...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I had a similar concern, going from 18" to 19", and started this thread. Inside there, he tested the 18" covers, 6% I think.....but understood, many have tested. My chief concern was whether the 10% 18" to 19" was real or not. Based on his data, sounds real...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

The range difference is 6% with covers on versus off.....confirmed in another post. It's fairly major. 18" to 19" is roughly 10% per the web site, and this sounds about right based on past tests. I have 19" on my current Model 3, will probably go to 18" on the new one, not willing to give up...

Highland LR 18” to 19” rims posted range difference

Never replied, but thanks so much for the info. 10% difference is definitely possible based on your data. On my 2018 Model 3 I went with the 19" rims, but the 18" rims have grown on me for sure, and I'm not willing to give up 10% range. Getting close to retirement, hope to drive this puppy...

2018 Model 3 vs Highland battery tech

Thanks Alan.....so charging speed would be a slight negative with Highland....and perhaps there's less calendar aging so capacity maintains slightly better? Ultimately there's nothing I can do about it, the batteries are what the batteries are.....just curious of what I'll be seeing.

2018 Model 3 vs Highland battery tech

Thanks…..assuming my 2018 had I think 77kWh Panasonic, are there any advantages or disadvantages to the CATL or LG batteries in the LR highland?

what are the 2023 batteries? :)

2018 Model 3 vs Highland battery tech

hey folks, I've got a 2018 vin around 120,000, using Panasonic batteries I presume. Looking to buy a new Highland, I recall it's got a different battery and chemistry. Currently I'm keeping charge at 50% for years on my 2018, only go to 100% if I need it.....in theory to reduce calendar aging...

Highland LR 18” to 19” rims posted range difference

Interesting data, thanks! In theory I'm only interested in more range when I'm doing a long highway trip....stretch it out between superchargers. At highway speeds, should I assume very little difference, or do you think those photon wheel covers make a big difference?

Highland LR 18” to 19” rims posted range difference

Yep I know it's always been different, and your rough 5% sounds more logical honestly. 10% sounds high to me.....identical car, just go to 19" rims? I recall them mentioning the highland range was improved, something like 8%.....I'm wondering if they did the full EPA test on the 18" rims and...

Highland LR 18” to 19” rims posted range difference

Hey folks, the LR with 18” rims is showing 341 miles range, switching to 19” rims drops it to 305 miles, a 10% drop. I’ve got a 5.5 year old model 3, I know Tesla plays some strange games. But does it make sense to have a 10% drop in range with this change? I recall others testing years ago...
