New Mexico Law Prohibits Tesla Stores and Service Centers

So, there are garages for service in the building, as well as several cars waiting for prep. There is no supercharger, just the regular slow 48A chargers in the back parking area. I suppose I have the first customer Tesla parked at the service center. As it was a small casino. it has a large...

Tesla Showroom Opening Sept 9th in Santa Fe County, NM !

I am in Los Alamos, so I will go down and check, but that old mini casino has been under construction for the last few months. I have been pushing Tesla hard to get a service center in in Santa Fe, as the sheer number of Tesla's in Los Alamos and Santa Fe is huge. We have 4 on my street, and...

Do Winter Heater Failures Portend Summer A/C Failures?

As the person who first encountered this problem in my 2020 MYP which was built on day 1, I can tell you that if one fails then the other will fail. The reason is that the MY uses a heat pump, and the action of heating and cooling is the same, simply the reversing of a valve. I had some days...

Y- roof rack or rear bike rack effect on range???

Last weekend I drove to Albuquerque and back with one mtb on the hitch rack. 208mi round trip with half on back highway and half on interstate. I charged to 305 miles before leaving and finished with 21mi left on the charge. The temp was not that cold, as it was 65f in Abq and about 52f in Los...

    Charging fault at supercharger

I had the same thing happen, and it turns out the cooling system in my Model Y was failing.

    Y AC and heat fails

This is only one of the issues I have with a Model Y built on day 2 way back in March. The AC and the heat would fail at any time when trying to use them. All manner of reboots with service were tried, and they had to pick my car up on a truck and take it back to Denver for service. They...

    $300 Hitch

No I do not, and none of my 1up racks have come with a pin either. The friction ball is enough to hold it in place without it moving. If you fail to tighten the bolt with the supplied allen wrench, I could see disaster happening. I have driven from NM to the CA coast and back with 4 bikes on the...

    $300 Hitch

When I insert either of my 1up racks, I simply place it about the thickness of my hand from the bumper and tighten it down. I use a velcro strap as an insurance in case the rack loosens up, but I have never had this happen to me on any of my 1up racks.

Does your trunk make a loud thump sound before opening?

Update: the mobile tech was here yesterday and we looked at it again. He is ordering a new gas strut to see if it is stronger and better resists the lifting force of the motor strut. We will see if this works.

    Range on Induction wheels

i1tesla has already confirmed that all of the MY's wheels fit all of the MY's brakes, but the question is what is the actual range difference between the different wheels on the road. The long range gets 320mi and the PUP gets 285mi with the 21's, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the...

    Range on Induction wheels

MY PUP with 21" Uberturbines and I am getting 270Wh/mi average in the mountains, and 258Wh/mi on the highway at 75-80. I have over 1200 mi on it now, and have not actually taken it on the interstate, but I have driven a lot of back highways. Bear in mind NM is a high altitude state, but the...

    MY PUP Owners

I have had my PUP with 21's for 2 months now, and I am in the mountains of northern NM. To say our roads are bad would be a serious understatement, I equate them to dirt roads with black paint. Having said that, I have already driven 9 miles of dirt road with the MY, and it did fantastic. The...

Does your trunk make a loud thump sound before opening?

No, it isn't normal. The mobile service tech and I spent an hour in my garage with him loosening the driver side bolts and me pushing on the trunk lid. The issue is that the motorized leg is only on the drivers side of the trunk, and there is a passive gas strut on the passenger side. If you...

Service in ABQ Seems to be Improving

Read what I wrote and pull up the Supercharger map. I said other than I-10, I-25, and I-40. You could not drive from anywhere north to Silver city as an example. You could not drive down to Carlsbad caverns without plugging into a wall charger for 12 hours somewhere. I just drove a loop up to...

    Really? Point out one lie.
