Low coolant message Tesla Model S 85D

I had coolant problems, both because of the leaking valves AND because of the faulty ground connection. If the problem is related to the corroded ground connection, it's possible that whatever you did to adjust the frunk button could have temporarily fixed the problem. This thread (Ground Stud...

Failed Rear Lower Control Arm / Service Bulletin SB-19-31-001

Update: I'm back in business! Or at least, I'm driving again. Ordered from evannex.com Tuesday evening and got a surprise when the lower control arm arrived mid-day today. WFH gave me the flexibility to take advantage of the limited sunlight in Michigan afternoons during the winter. Less...

Failed Rear Lower Control Arm / Service Bulletin SB-19-31-001

And now it's my turn to be added to a/the list :) Backing out of my driveway last Friday, the rear driver's side control arm failed with me completely blocking the side street. Fortunately, the two drivers showed up relatively quickly and people were understanding (and we have multiple exits...

    12v emergency replacement

The thread about summarizes my experience when my 12v was giving warnings. I procrastinated and procrastinated hunting around for a drop in replacement. Mine, fortunately, was the revised location (2015 85D) which meant a few bolts are all that stood between me and removing the frunk liner to...

    Ground Stud Nut over torqued

Adding another successful repair thanks to this thread. I was anxious about the expensive repair bill. I was linked here by David.85D after posting the frunk sensor issue - and low and behold, the little bolt was the culprit! Thank you for such a well documented fix!

    2015 85D Frunk/Front Trunk Sensor - Diagnostic Assistance?

Verdict: As expected it was the ground stud. On visual inspection it looked fine, even a gentle jiggle with my hand seemed fine. But as soon as I tried to loosen the nut it just fell off. $8 for a drill/tap, $1.19 for a brass bolt, $1.19 for a pack of brass washers and I was back in...

    2015 85D Frunk/Front Trunk Sensor - Diagnostic Assistance?

Holy smokes, the symptoms described in the thread you linked are identical (headlight, coolant low, app notification, frunk open/close). I know exactly what I'm doing tomorrow after work (or heck, maybe even during my lunch break). Thank you so much for the lead - I swear I searched and...

    2015 85D Frunk/Front Trunk Sensor - Diagnostic Assistance?

Recently, I've had an issue where my 2015 85D repeatedly believes the front tunk/frunk is open, but then closed, and open again. This, I believe, is the root cause of the app sending me alerts that the alarm has been triggered. I only had that happen once over the summer, but in the last few...

    Leaking 3-way valve

Just had my 3-way valve replaced. I couldn't diagnose it as clearly as your photos which was part of my reasoning for sending it in. Cost more for the tow than it did for the repair. $256ish and a few days of waiting and it was back in business. Mine started leaking rather quickly and...

Coolant Actuator Replacement Advice - DIY

Thanks for the tip. Generally speaking I consider myself up for the challenge, but also feel this mysterious "ooo battery car, scary stuff if I break it". But after the reading I've done, should another leak appear I feel much more confident at least doing the diagnostics myself. Just got...

Coolant Actuator Replacement Advice - DIY

I wish I had been able to diagnose where my leak was coming from because I'd have happily given the part replacement a shot myself. Alas, had our 2015 85D towed 70 miles to the shop where it's going to be sitting for a week and a half. It's been out of commission for about 3 weeks assuming the...

A happy Tesla is an unplugged Tesla

Noticed the same thing when I first picked up my Tesla. Had the charge set to 80%, and the pump would be running constantly. The noise itself didn't bother me but after reading threads here I realized that for my typical commute I don't need even 20% of that range. I now charge to 60% and...

Can’t change the ownership in Tesla system

I found the process not very transparent, but for adding data, my timeline: 1. 5/8 purchased my '15 85D from non-Tesla dealership 2. 5/11 submitted paperwork to Tesla 3. 5/14 ownership transfer complete I had created a Tesla account a couple of months prior while hunting and getting trade-in...

    2015 p85d battery question

I'm only about a month and a half into owning my '15 85D, and I had similar concerns about range. I even anxiously asked that the dealership charge the car up fully (they did only charge it to 80%) before I picked it up because it was about 100 miles away. Best thing I've done for my range...

    Wheel Alignment worth it?

Even if Autopilot is correcting for the misalignment, that's extra wear and tear on the tires. Given the cost of the tires alone, I'd say the $200 is worth it, but there may be other places that can check/adjust for cheaper too.
