Thoughts about Tesla and their tire choice?

Seems strange to me that disagreeing with Tesla's policy over the tires leads to a caustic reply like this. Apparently one must either blindly worship everything Tesla does or shouldn't be permitted in their elite club. This attitude is needlessly contentious.

    Tire Life/Maintenance

I agree completely. My rear tires lasted slightly longer, but they were worn down on the inside edges to another layer of rubber- well beyond safe wear. When I took delivery, they actually advised me to run it in low or very low to conserve power on the highway. That piece of bad advice cost...

Thoughts about Tesla and their tire choice?

I will give them a try. Certainly, Tesla has been totally unwilling to help despite their admission that the alignment was somewhat off. They claim that wearing through a set of tires in 14K miles is "normal". Obviously, I won't be getting any of their tires again.

Thoughts about Tesla and their tire choice?

Yes. It was off, but I'm having a dispute with Tesla about whether my tires wore out due to that misalignment or from the vehicle riding too much at "low" height, which wears out the tire inside edge. Perhaps the wear/alignment issue explains why I had such bad performance in snow with the...

Thoughts about Tesla and their tire choice?

Just to be clear... I hope nobody thinks the stock tires are good for snow. They are not. And since the stock tires don't last more than 15K miles (at least the rear ones) you won't have to worry about these stock tires for long.

    Rear Tire Wear on XP90D

No, I have the 20" wheels. I think it's outrageous too. And I ran at standard height with autolowering at 55 MPH except on one long trip where I kept it in very low because I was trying to get better range (didn't notice a difference). And I do have almost all highway miles. Anyway, when I...

    Rear Tire Wear on XP90D

Hi, These are important points and I'm sorry I didn't see them sooner. During our orientation to the car, the sales associate told me he always kept his in "very low" and recommended I do the same to get better energy efficiency due to the improved aerodynamics. However, I ignored those...
