Random 'Bogey alerts' for parked vehicles drastically increased in 2024.3.15

I've seen it as well, but only have noticed it when there is a curve in the road that makes it look like the car is stopped in front of me. And yes, the car turns bright red and I get warning buzzes.

    Speed bumps and FSD

My 2017 MS on FSDb will always slow down if the speed bump is clearly marked with a white chevron. Otherwise, it ignores them. It's a shame that only about 20% of the speed bumps I come across are marked.

    V11 Actual Experiences

I did my first drive of any real length today (62 miles, about half on interstates and half on secondary roads) with FSDb 11.3.3. My experience with braking was similar to yours, I think. My biggest issue is also that braking is still too late and too hard. I rarely use the friction brakes...

    Misread Speed Signs

So we have a section on I95 in VA near Fredericksburg where they have recently installed electronic variable speed limit signs. The speeds range from 70 mph down to 35 mph at times. My 2017 Model S with FSD beta reads all of them correctly every time unless the speed is less than 45 mph. When...

    FSD Beta hugging left centerline

And I think that that is the crux of the problem. Programming FSD to ALWAYS favor one side or the other is never going to work. Any predilection to do so will run into numerous issues. As the car should always know the nature of the road based upon map info, maybe certain basic rules might be...

Tesla FSD Beta Release 10.5 2021.36.8.7

It is for that reason that I typically will not use it if someone is too close behind me. But I just did a 300+ mile drive to the OBX and I experienced only 3 or 4 phantom braking events, and only of about 5-10 mph. Not great, but they were also fairly gradual. Nothing sudden. I had to turn it...

    FSD Beta hugging left centerline

I think that one of the issues here is that it kinda depends on the type of road on which you are driving. On a urban or suburban street where there are cars parked on the right (in some parts of the world) side of the road, staying towards the center line makes sense to prevent a lot of bobbing...

Rollback update. Fsd removed. Safety score is back

Taking a nap usually "fixes" me too. ;-)

Lost access to my Safety Score 2 days after getting FSD Beta 10.2 (2021.32.25)

My bad. See above reply to Tam. Thanks.

Lost access to my Safety Score 2 days after getting FSD Beta 10.2 (2021.32.25)

I see that now. I was only focused on the Model S forum section. Myopic on my part. The only thing that I thought is that since they reserve the right to yank FSD beta away for unsafe driving, that it might still be useful. But I suppose that Tesla is really now only concerned about monitoring...

Lost access to my Safety Score 2 days after getting FSD Beta 10.2 (2021.32.25)

So I was lucky enough to qualify for the download of FSD beta on Monday. Got my first chance to drive on Tuesday, a 85 mile round trip including rural roads, Interstate highway, and some small town roads. During that time, I was still able to see my Safety score and see how it changed, or not...

Model S 3rd Party Tow Hitch

I put on the Ecohitch by Torklift on my 2017 MS. Works great for bike racks. Some have even towed with it. Just make sure to isolate it from the frame or you will probably get some galvanic reaction. They do provide some nylon washers for this purpose, but I went the extra mile and applied a...

65 mph Speed Limit Signs "invisible" to Tesla

I ran into this case just yesterday for the first time. Sign said "35 mph limit ends". Car stayed at 35 mph. The speed limit was then back to 50 mph.

65 mph Speed Limit Signs "invisible" to Tesla

I drive I95 and I64 between the DC area and Norfolk, VA pretty often and I have not seen any issues of the car not reading the speed limit signs as the go between 60, 65, and 70 mph. And especially on I64 there have been a number of recent changes. I did notice, however, one instance when the...

    Phantom Sentry Mode Events

Just asking... Are you sure it's Sentry Mode and not just regular dash cam? Every time I install a software update, the dash cam gets turned on. I also just forget to turn it off sometimes. Again. Just a thought. Does the IC indicate you have 500 Sentry mode events?
